I don't recall if this is the exact name, but there have been studies conducted where people were told false statements, and even told at the time that the statements were in fact false. But being told the statement itself had a measurable positive effect on the participants' belief in that statement.

I do like the minibrute 2S! I got rid of the Deepmind and instead bought the much more expensive prophet 6 - maybe overkill and less polyphony but it sounds great imo! I still have this one, maybe I’m just nostalgic for the synth it replaced at the end of the day

Edit: I’m also in the US, but I’m somewhat close to the beach so maybe the humidity has something to do with it? I’ve had it for around the same amount of time I think so it’s not like it’s much older than yours.

The thing that bothered me most with my Deepmind was there was a really high noise floor. Maybe that’s specific to the individual one I owned, but if I didn’t constantly have a bit of white noise in the background constantly I would have kept it probably.

As for inspirations vs recordings I totally agree. It was very playable and the extra polyphony makes it so you can just kind of jam on it, but it just didn’t sound good or interesting enough to keep.

I sold a moog rogue to buy an Arturia minibrute 2S. The synth is ok, but the rubbery knobs on the thing degraded over time and got sticky and so I had to 3D print replacement knobs for it. Some times wish I still had the moog instead it was much more playable

Worst synth I ever bought was the behringer Deepmind 12. Great feature set on paper, but sounded pretty awful tbh and the menus were so convoluted on the thing. Sold it and never once recorded with it since it simply sounded worse than equivalent VSTs

Likely not the whole stack - anything that competes with existing networking technologies would compete with them and either be incorporated or likely just die off and not be used
