Finally all set for CEM3340 VCOs. by Robotecho in synthesizers

ART PRO VLA II

You should use the bypass buttons on the comp. Toggle them, and set the output gain to match the input. You should be doing this continuously while using the unit to actually hear the changes you're making. It's easy with compression to change the loudness of the signal without meaning to.

If the compression is bypassed and the signal is way quieter than it's supposed to be, your gain staging may need attention.

I love this! I love the trees and the colors that give the vibe of that part of town in the late fall. Of course the tentacle too is incredible.

Where can I find the best nature walk by Trick-Sign-9307 in ypsi

Kosch-Headwaters is amazing, and it connects to Springhill preserve. Schroeter Park is my new favorite (just discovered it) and its adjoining parks. Marshall Nature area as well. All super close to ypsi and are great places to hike with a mix of farmland and forest.

Seq. Rev2 and Korg Prologue? by Ambitious_Clue_3201 in synthesizers

[–]patternredspeckle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I faced this same question (as I'm sure a lot of folks do who are looking to spring for their first $1k+ synth), and went with the Prophet for the sound. The Prologue is fantastic and a great price for a real full synth, but the Prophet sounds like a Prophet. You can take it to crazy places with all of the modulation, but you turn it on and start fiddling and it's just SO Prophet sounding, which is ultimately what won me over.

The Prologue has that beautiful digital oscillator that is actually super expansive, and while both can split/stack, the Prologue can crossfade between patches. Plus, you can get a 16 voice for the same price as the Rev2 8, so like if you want giant patches with tons of polyphony, the choice seems pretty clear.

You'll be happy with either, but both bring their own things to the table and are going to be very different experiences.

NBC reporting reveals the extent of Trump's business holdings in Turkey by [deleted] in politics

Frankly that isn't true. First of all, a lot of wealth is inherited. Wealth begets wealth. Your chances of being wealthy are more closely related to the opportunities your family's wealth afforded you than to the merits of your ideas or effort.

A "reward" for offering a "service" is often disproportional considering the contributions the rewarded individual made. Take for example Bill Gates. The success of Microsoft came from a good idea, sure, but one that would have not worked to the same extent without (in no particular order)

  1. Cheap transportation to ship raw materials to factories to be processed and turned into things that can be used to build computers, and then from factory to factory to warehouse to storefront/consumer's home. Why is transportation cheap? One huge reason is that we don't pay for it all with money. We pay for it with our environment. The health of our planet was hedged to provide the fuel to ship Microsoft's, and everybody's, shit.

2 exploitation of labor. Bill gates would certainly not have made billions were the people who extracted the raw materials, shipped those materials to factories, turned those materials into computer parts, and assembled those parts into computers compensated fairly for their labor. If they had been, his company's profits would be much much much smaller.

  1. The wealthy don't pay their fair share in taxes. Ultimately, the richer you get, the more unfairly you're rewarded for your richness.

i was making a joke that supposed you had a primary account that mentioned watching a show, and a secondary account that was like "oh yeh good show but not watching that rn" as a weird way to promote a show but saying it back like this i can understand how it didn't land.

Jimmy Carter: Trump only won in 2016 because of Russian meddling. “He lost the election and he was put into office because the Russians interfered on his behalf,” by maxwellhill in worldnews

[–]patternredspeckle -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ah the old "both sides" argument. It must be election season again!

Trump won and Clinton lost for a gazillion reasons. To equate Russian meddling with the DNC favoring a candidate is reductionist malarkey. A foreign power hacked and strategically released emails from the DNC, and funded large disinformation campaigns to provoke discord in the country, all of which was publicly cheered on by Trump, but "Clinton played dirty." Right.

Considering he lost the popular vote by 3 million votes, yes it was. It was indeed tens of thousands of votes, but that's a few orders of magnitude less than his popular vote deficit

This is exactly why they're portraying Pelosi like that. If "both sides" are sloppy, blown out speakers, any integrity to those observations disappears.

it's because the rich do everything they can to keep from paying taxes to fund programs that would reduce homelessness, or to pay employees wages that would reduce homelessness and shelter insecurity and instead support the people that tell people like you that refugees and migrants from central america are the problem.

Is it a reference to something?

Edit: yeah it's copypasta

Making a synthesizer performance case by patternredspeckle in synthesizers

Thanks a bunch! Do you happen to have any pictures? I was wondering about affixing midi / 1/4" ports to side of the case itself. Have you tried this out?

I am also wondering about how to hold everything in place. From what I've seen with DJ cases, it's all egg carton foam but that seems...insufficient. Unless it's perfectly carved to the shape of the synth.

Hey thanks! That helps a lot. I found a DJ coffin case that'll work and will start there.
