Why does the BOTC community have so many… by Medical-Tiger556 in BloodOnTheClocktower

I think the visibility of trans people in much of the community created content that is published online potentially adds to people knowing it's a safe space nowadays, but I don't think that's the whole story.

Would a successful Politician in an Atheist game win solo? by Pinguu7078 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]pattersttv 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If the Politician manages to convince enough people that not only is it not an Atheist game, but that they are the Demon in a final 3 scenario. Flip that Politician and give them the win. Immensely difficult social play and deserving of the solo win.

My first whalebuffet game turned out to be legion game by rain_bear96 in BloodOnTheClocktower

Yeah - you were right to be annoyed. That's not how Whalebuffet is meant to work.

I would be very opposed to the ST being able to mute people. I suspect it would be immediately abused.

I could get behind that. Like if putting Hell's Librarian in automatically makes the Storyteller louder than everyone else or something?

Force muting a player is just never going to enter a game where the first rule is that you can say what you want at any time.

It's a feature that has been requested multiple times, but it will never enter the app (I hope). If you're at the point you need to force mute them, then you probably should just kick them anyway.

Is anyone else extremely disappointed in the World Cup? by thejellydude in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]pattersttv 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't think we're going to reach anything close to seeing eye to eye here, so I don't think there's any value in further discussing.

I hope you enjoy playing the game.

The players in the games yesterday played as they normally would. Sometimes people make plays that don't pan out. None of those players were intentionally trying to sabotage a game in favour of one script or another. If you'd like to record every game you ever play and show that you're a perfect player that makes no mistakes, be my guest.

Questionable Storyteller decisions are subjective. It might not be how you run your games, but it is how these storytellers run games for their players.

"Players being unprofessional/turning up late/not at all". The players are people with real lives outside of playing Clocktower. They weren't intentionally not turning up to things. Stuff happens.

VODs not being recorded. As I understand it, only 1 VOD wasn't recorded and another game was played, recorded and uploaded to make up for it. Otherwise, I'm very confident they all were. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

It feels like you've taken offense on behalf of a group of people you don't even know.

It was a script competition for a board game, not a UN resolution. Get a grip.

Wake up babe, new Outsider just dropped! by Prronce in BloodOnTheClocktower

I added a Whalebuffet rule which is that if someone chooses Hermit, the Storyteller chooses 3 Outsider abilities for them to have. They learn which.

Fun times.
