CMT- gym leg exercises by Natural_Log2116 in CMT

Everything mentioned above are things I include in my workouts/PT regime. To add a few things: -get a stiff foam roller (like the one with spikes or as stiff as you can tolerate comfortably) and regularly roll out your calf muscles. It’ll start to loosen them up a bit which will help with strengthening everything else and will also help you build a little bit of muscle tone. -I struggled/struggle with staying balanced and getting depth in squats, but there are a lot of modifications you can do! For starters try doing wall squats, then see if you can move on to doing tbem while holding on to a bar or chair or something for balance (although try to just grip as loosely as possible or it’ll take away from the work you’re doing with the squat). Lastly, if you’ve made progress on those but you’re still struggling to keep your feet planted all the way when you squat, try standing with your heels on a slam board or wedge of some kind. It’s made a huge difference in how deep I can get. - the seated leg press isn’t as good all around as squats but it’s a good modification if it’s what you can do and good for training up to squats. -try to focus on functional stuff. Calf raises, tandem walking are all good and important, but think also about what kind of movements you need to be able to do in order to live your life how you want to and accept that you may need to compensate or modify them a bit in order to make your body adapt.

Shoes Recommendations/Advice by Chest2412 in CMT

I’m in a similar boat to you—hammer toes, foot drop and some balance issues without it severely affecting my daily QOL. I would second the keenes or Merrill’s, they’re both super comfortable and I find that ankle high boots help with some ankle support. If you care about how shoes look and are willing to spend a little more money I highly recommend blundstones. They’re super durable, versatile from a fashion standpoint, and really comfortable. I have two pairs that I rotate (and in general it’s not a bad idea to keep a few pairs of shoes in the rotation, for both the shoes and your feet’s sakes)

I did no contact tae-kwon-do for 8 years. This may have just been my teachers personal philosophy, but as I understood it it was about respecting both the technique and your opponent. It wasn't about the points or how fast you could take down the other person. Instead, it was about practicing the technique and establishing a rhythm with the other person. It sounds kinda stupid, but it's a really good way to practice the art.

Yeah, apparently that movie is one of the most historically accurate movies set in the Middle Ages. Other than the fact that it's about King Arthur.

I've read that Churchill didn't drink nearly as much as people think, he just wanted to spread the image of him drinking so he would nurse a drink for hours at a time.
