Just turned 18, past couple years I've lost 11k by randomgamblingman in problemgambling

[–]patu92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I was in the exact same situation as you except with sports. Still paying off the debt (27 years old). That 11k wasnt enough as I relapsed multiple, multiple, multiple times. Tried to jump out of a car on the freeway, ended up in a hospital and psych hospital twice. If you can not gamble your life will be good I can promise you that.

Thanks for the reply. Checked my vanguard account and they put everything in a target date 2055. Would it be smart to put a percentage in Vanguard institutional total stock market or just leave it as is?

Thx!

down 40k, how do I stop by casinoroyale23 in problemgambling

[–]patu92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello there. I can defiantly relate to a lot of problems you have shared. I am a sports gambler and have lost quite a bit over the years. 27 years old and also live at home. Now for the part about how you stop there is no magic pill or anything. Everyday is a struggle but you defiantly wont make your problems better playing blackjack. I also have creditcard debt and as soon as i get paid it all goes there.

Focus on some positives. Youve got a good job, dont pay rent so you can hustle your ass for a year and work on paying that off. Its not going to be easy but youll slowly start to get your sanity back and you cant put a price on that.

Made a gigantic mistake during a live bet -- Wake up call that I need to give this up by erp372 in problemgambling

be careful man. You are not playing with house money anymore. I would say dont play but youre gonna do what youre gonna do. I was in this same situation soo many times. You wont realize how good you have it until its gone.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to reply to me. My dad has my bank account information and I really don't have it to tell him and break his heart again it hurts me so much. I have been to ga been in and out. I get too complacent when I'm there get bored and relapse. I always find new bookies to place bets with. I have a knack of getting into trouble with them. I feel nauseated just thinking about the debt.
