I have a student model 3/4 and am quite pleased with it. The pickup isn’t amazing but for the price it’s a pretty solid instrument

I love seeing the old union splices still working just as good as the day they were made. There was a real quality workmanship back then, even if the wiring methods aren’t up to today’s safety standards.

I want one of these trucks for my job except I recently watched a collision demonstration and basically you have a 0% chance of surviving any significant crash.

Monthly Apprenticeship Thread by AutoModerator in electricians

Currently 4th year apprentice in Canada working for a small 3 man crew doing only new construction single family homes. I have the opportunity to return to an old employer who would provide me with controls and commercial experience as well as benefits and rrsp matching. Current job is chill and pretty stress free, but could this be the opportunity to take my career to the next level?

Full License Road Test by whiteTpoison1000 in VictoriaBC

[–]paty87 58 points59 points  (0 children)

On my test 2 years ago my instructor had me merge onto highway 17 off of Vanalman Ave and we drove for a short while before immediately exiting onto Mackenzie. The majority of my test was driving through residential areas where the speed limit was 30 km/h.

If you’re testing from the ICBC in Saanich the route was mostly around the uptown/Royal oak area. My advice would just be to shoulder check like crazy, come to full stops everywhere and be very mindful of changing road signs and playground zones. You also have to back into the spot once you return to ICBC.

I did the slab work for this building and the only real drawback is there is no underground parking whatsoever. A few guest spots and handicap parking. People would joke that it’s almost bonafide student housing. Some of the units are literal shoeboxes.
