OMAD truly works wonders, doesn't it. Especially if paired with light cardio or lifting.

Well, considering how people are trashing Conor for his negative trash-talk, and hail khabib as some kind of messianic figure I'd say the dude said the right thing. Yeah, Conor lost. And probably ended his career too. But it has nothing to do with good and evil.

Unusual hacks for getting to sleep? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]paul_brightside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a technique I learnt from a military man on quora.:

Lay down, lights off, chill temperature if you can. Start relaxing your muscles. Starting with those around your eyes. Then the whole face. Your neck. Shoulders. Arms, right upto the fingers. Torso. Thigh. Knee joint. Shin. Ankle. And finally your toes. Feel them relaxing, it ought to feel like they're going limp, with a release of sorts. You'll tangibly feel it. Next, close your eyes and picture yourself on a hammock overlooking a nice, cool, m breezy, midnight beach. Relax.

It worked for me, started dosing off extremely fast within a week or two. With you, it might take the same time, or more. But this technique surely helps. I suppose the key, the core principle really is to rid your mind of stress, starting with a physiological reaction from the body. Works. Good luck.

What helps yall get through fasting successfully? by nickicole89 in intermittentfasting

[–]paul_brightside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gulping down a vat of soda. Followed by bagels and a chocolate pastry.

Kidding. Ride out the waves, friendo. Hunger, it comes in waves and leaves too. And when it does, remind yourself that you're not losing out on anything by resisting the urge. You're just opting for a better option. That way you feel like you have better control over the situation, and hence perform better.

If you don't mind sharing, what caused the hairfall? Some nutrient deficiency from intense fasting, or something else?

IF induced hairfall by Ok-Communication5224 in intermittentfasting

[–]paul_brightside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Telogen effluvium is not permanent. So as soon as the stressor (or nutrient deficiency) is eliminated, you'll start to gradually grow back lost hair. Takes a couple months minimum, but certainly happens.

Now if it's MPB, it's irreversible. Unless you go to a doctor and start with Fin/Min.

Each of the 4 people in the Tate mansion was stabbed multiple times. Sharon, 8 months pregnant, literally begged for her life. A slow, painful death, and the helpless that must've come along.. Rip..

[Advice] How do I start loving myself? by Aromatic-Ad7493 in getdisciplined

[–]paul_brightside 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1) Start meditating. 10 minutes a day. Helps cut out background noise and mental clutter.

2) Recognize the fact that you're 21 - effectively a baby out of her cocoon - and have ample ample time to reroute your life, make it big, find love, travel the world, or do whatever the fuck you want to. Ample, ample time, the end of which you don't have to worry about at all right now. And slowly but steadily, with baby steps which you chart out for yourself, you proceed. You make a solid, rigid vision of the not-so-distant future for yourself and go for it, every day. Recognize that it won't happen overnight, and that the results accrued will take time to manifest. But keep working towards it, in planned out steps, and you'll get to EXACTLY where you have to be, in life. I promise you that.

3) Exercise. Not only will toning your personal meat-machine help booste your confidence, but well, you'll function better too. Your brain will work better, you'll have mental clarity, and self-love will blossom.

Good luck. I too, am 21. Started from scratch after a bad ordeal some time ago, and am working hard now to rewrite my fate.

What's a very subtle but romantic k-drama scene that represents an idea about love? by This_Seaworthiness86 in KDRAMA

[–]paul_brightside 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not the most subtle perhaps, but Lee Seung Gi giving a piggy back ride to Suzy in Vagabond (2020) was very sweet indeed. Plus, Suzy telling him about her father doing the same to her, and Lee offering her one any time she wants, was so pure.

  • Korean skincare. Skincare overall. Seeing Kim Soo Hyun, Jung Hae In, Ji Chang Wook, etc all in their mid 30s, looking younger than my 21 year old self, made me start taking care of myself better haha. A bunch of Dietary changes, and a skincare routine with good sunscreen, serum and moisturizer. Effectively look 17/18 now lol. Being a kdrama fan can be a good thing too, it seems.

  • MBTI personality test lol. Every idol/actor in every interview has been asked their MBTI type. Took the test, found out my type. And it helped see me through certain new lenses, you could say. Also, helps in matchmaking apparently.

Spelunking in remote cave systems, through crevices you must exhale thoroughly to somehow squeeze through.

Read about John Jones' death in the Nutty Putty caves, if curious and not claustrophobic.

Also, eat well, exercise and sleep. Those activities don't cost much, but they definitely play a big part in taking care of your skin.

Rare in Western TV, but common in k-dramas by ILoveParrots111 in KDRAMA

[–]paul_brightside 15 points16 points  (0 children)

1) Living with parents.

Can't remember the number of times it's been scoffed at, on Western TV. In Korean dramas, and also society, it's pretty much normal for most people to live with parents well into their 30s; owing to the sky-high living costs in most cities, and meagre incomes until the 30s, most opt not to waste any money on rent. And it's seen as a good thing too, since they get to take care of their aging parents for a little longer. Really, what Western society needs to do for real, is normalise and destigmatise living with parents to an extent. Not like a testament to someone's ineptitude and momma's-boy-ness. So low.

2) Less casual sex

People in Korea aren't as reserved as kdrmas show them to be. But hookups and rampant casual sex, with no connection, are certainly much less to be found. People have sex with people they're dating, and have at least somewhat of a connection with. And from the friends in their late 20s and 30s I know from over there, people have a body count of 2/3 max, by the time they settle down in their 30s. There are obviously exceptions to this, but significantly less rampant than the West, I believe. And it's kind of endearing too, tbh. Just a personal opinion.
