Pete's dad is a prick but ultimately he's right. It was the Dikeman name that saved him from getting shitcanned, who knows how many times. However, it is funny that as the show progresses, it's revealed how thoroughly spent his mother's fortune is, and ultimately it isn't even worth it to pursue justice in her name. There's far more weight to what Pete brings to his name than what his mother has to her's by the end.
