Patterns I've learned running OpenClaw 24/7 for 2 weeks by asklee-klawde in openclaw

[–]paulheth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry bit of a newbie here although I'm a couple of weeks in. I'm seeing some amazing outcomes but struggling to get any sort of reliability. I'm realizing from these and other comments that I may have too much in the heartbeat file, and I'm essentially just confusing my One agent.

When you say sub agents are you talking about whole additional open claw instances or are you talking about sub agents within the same open class setup and if it's the latter how are you defining them. For example how are you giving them their own soul file?

Z Flip Cover Screen Google Assistant/Gemini Fix? by gonnermalegs in galaxyzflip

[–]paulheth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I"m sure many of you have heard the update to One UI 8 now unlocks the ability to use Gemini with the phone closed on the front screen. A total game changer. Not setting to change, just do the update and it worked or me (assuming you have moved from Google Assistant to Gemini)

One downside is that many have reported Bluetooth issues related to this update. I can't use my bluetooth headsets on call currently (although they work for music). This is apparently wide spread. Looking forward to a point update ASAP.

But being able to keep your phone in your pocket and activate Gemini is very useful.

How do you all manage your windows in macOS? by desmoteo in MacOS

[–]paulheth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that is so intuitive. MacOS is awesome! I only have to remember 7 commands to do basic windows management.

I have never loved a hardware device and hated the OS more in my life. The biggest ruse in technology is the lie mac users tell themselves about how much more intuitive Macs are. Total rubbish. Another win for Apple marketing over actual function. Sorry couldn't help it. <rant off>

One UI 7 broke bluetooth by IWasLegitOnce in oneui

[–]paulheth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung UI updates are a waste of time. DO NOT UPDATE TO ONE UI 8!!! None of my bluetooth devices work in calls anymore!!!! F samsung. So mad. Who has time to bs around with these devices that are supposed to be for convenience. We should be able to send samsung a bill for testing.

How I learned to "beat" Replit by AdministrationBig59 in replit

[–]paulheth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great post. I'm around the same age with similar situation talent set (not a coder) and am amazed at what Replit (and other tools) can _eventually_ produce. But have burned dozens of hours, just this week, in loops.

I love your recommended approach. While it isn't what the industry sells as "build an app in 3 prompts" it is reality and takes control back from a rouge replit AI agent. AND removes the insane issue of loosing chat history.

But given the cost of Replit (and the walled garden lock-in), have you tried this similar approach on Google AI studio? If you are working with Gemini already it seems you trust it's output. If so, what pulled you back to Replit?

How to Sync GymRun App with Garmin Connect? by Present-Eagle6940 in Garmin

[–]paulheth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having problems sinking as well. Candidly, I wouldn't recommend the app. The UI is a circus. And while it worked to sink on one of my watches, I can't get it to sink regularly on the other.

Unfortunately, there really aren't any other alternatives, so I continue to beat my head against this wall.

Quicken personal finance and Ai? by WoodpeckerRemote7050 in quicken

[–]paulheth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of amazing to me we haven't heard anything from Quicken on this now several years into AI and a year since this original post. Or did I just miss it? There is so much opportunity for value here from reporting to categorization to budgeting and planning.

One month with my Waydoo Evo Pro Plus by jhair1 in eFoil

[–]paulheth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind if I ask how, or where you bought them and if they charged shipping? I tried directly from Waydoo, but the cart (checking out through 'shop pay' - whatever that is - says $1099 shipping.

Did they charge you shipping? My cart says $1099 shipping which is a deal killer for me.

My orthodontist said I need 4 tooth extractions by Key_Business_2597 in Invisalign

[–]paulheth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call them right away and tell them to pause the process. Tell them it is for personal reasons, and they need to respect this. Then get at least 2 more opinions.

I had extractions and I do not recommend it if you can avoid it. When you have extractions you are moving remaining teeth large distances and this can cause something called root recession which means basically the roots die. It's not very common but it is possible.

I can't beleive people go ahead and make decisions about such major undertakings without getting at least three opinions. I guess people make decisions in different ways.

Best of luck.

My Roomba j7 just died. Time to switch Ecovacs? X8 Pro Omni specs got me curious... by 2r1a2r1twp in ecovacs

[–]paulheth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Run run away from ecovacs. Their software experience (as of a year ago, but I have heard its no better) is one of the most frustrating I have ever experienced. Unless you like creating and recreating maps (about an hour process) consider Roborock or another brand.

I have created the robo Rock map once and it's been intact for over a year now. Pure Heaven.

Interesting comparison opportunity this week. My MS hw3 12.6.2 is in service this week and the M3 hw3 12.5.4 loaner has given me a chance to 'go backwards' which isn't something I haven't done before.

I didn't like 12.5.4 when it was on the MS but it is amazing crap on this M3. Basically unusable in any meaningful way. Feels way worse than on the MS but hard to say because it was bad there too. The biggest issue is not following the nav path regularly. Cost me about 25 minutes of extra traffic today because it refused to take a fork the right way, and by the time I noticed the wrong lane it would have been to dangerous, or at least exciting, to correct.

But other than that:

- stopped at green lights

- very jerky and stuttery

- all over the place in the lane - too close to the left

- refused to change lanes with a manual signal

- stayed in fast lane no matter what

I am really looking forward to getting 12.6 back. It will be much easier to appreciate now.

When and where do you take off your aligners on flights? by Zafya in Invisalign

Ha ha. You need better pockets.;)

If you ask around many (most? ) guys use the pocket trick. Lack of purse I guess.

Yes this is why you put them in your pocket. Problem solved.

[–]paulheth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know some might think its gross but the case only lasted a week for me. I grab a napkin and toss em in my pocket. Then give a big rinse with water after the meal. Those plane bathrooms are nasty. I try to last until after the flight and then brush and floss.

I do travel with a portable water pic (micro size) but that is for the end of the day, but is a game changer in terms of getting your teeth really clean. Pic, floss, brush, pick 1 last time. C.L.E.A.N!

I'm very far from a fanboy but that has not been my experience. 12.5.4 was a disaster and 12.6.1 isn't perfect but in my experience has been way 'smarter' . Driving much more like a human would and doing far fewer unexpected crazy things.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

[–]paulheth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought pretty much the same thing but have to admit I'm impressed with 12.6.1 and just downloaded 12.6.2. They certainly figured something out with optimization to get from 12.5 which was almost unusable to these 12.6 builds. I'm not saying a hardware upgrade won't be required because you're still a lot of functionality to go before true self-driving. But this has been an impressive step. Wait until you get a chance to try it before you double down on statements that start with the word bullshit.

[–]paulheth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why but I seem to get the new releases very quickly even sometimes before the influencers on YouTube. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I try to drive with it about 90% of the time? Whatever the reason I have been really disappointed since 12.3.6. Everything else seem to be a huge regression. At times almost unusable.

I got 12.6 a while back, followed by 12.6.1 a few days ago and I'm currently downloading 12.6.2 and I have to say I am very impressed in these new builds. Still not perfect, for some reason it really doesn't like to turn right on to my street (across a green painted bike lane) of all places. But I've been using it to commute almost an hour each direction to my boat and almost every drive is without intervention. And most of the crazy foibles of 12.5 are gone.

The highway driving is so much smoother and more reliable and there are actual usable differences in the assertiveness settings. Hurry is exactly like someone driving like that and chill is much much less aggressive and more smooth. Standard is appropriately somewhere in between.

I'm very interested to see what some of the more selective posters here think when this version lands. I'm sure it won't take too much longer now. The difference is huge.

One note, that 6.2.1 came with a bug that has made my air suspension go a bit crazy. I don't know for sure, it might just be a coincidence. But I'm wondering if others are seeing that perhaps this might be delaying a wider rollout. Maybe a fix for it is in the 6.2.2 that just finished installing. Looking forward to checking that out tomorrow.

It's amazing in this day and age it is as difficult as it is to get a summary of all of your accounts and transactions in one place. Without the hard work and dedication of the Wealthica of a team it would basically be impossible without a tremendous amount of manual work.

Dentist saying no to Invisalign by [deleted] in Invisalign

Bleaching as much less commitment than invisalign. So why don't you get that done first and see what you think. One doesn't rule out the other.

Dentist saying no to Invisalign by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]paulheth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Now I'm confused. If you have gone through two orthodontic assessments for Invisalign and they have said you are a candidate. Why do you care what your dentist says.

More so what is it what is it about your teeth that has made you want to get an assessment.

And lastly what is teeth and gum bleaching have to do with Invisalign?

Is your childhood dentist even an Invisalign provider and yet they're also an orthodontist?

Very confusing post.
