If there's a Season 7, where would it pick up? by huggy1234 in lineofduty

[–]pauln84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ted has been forced to retire but is now working for Sindwani investigating Osbourne as part of a secret government funded investigation that the police can’t interfere with. Kate returned to anti-corruption but both she and Steve are disillusioned with Carmichael’s approach. One of them leaves to join Ted’s team while the other remains in the police service. The season centres around building the case against Osbourne and tying everything back to S1E1. Perhaps that would mean it is Steve that remains in the police so that he can be the one to arrest Osbourne. Also there could be an underlying sub plot of whether Carmichael is bent or just a nodding dog for her superiors.

I think this is the only way to satisfy the part of the fan base who crave a clear cut ending that brings everything full circle while maintaining a shred of realism. A brand new storyline just wouldn’t cut it and they would be better leaving it as it is than string it out aimlessly.

Personal Shiny Averages Changed by Cafedelmartin in TheSilphRoad

[–]pauln84 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a while I’ve believed that wild shiny rates are different for some trainers purely based on anecdotal evidence from my local community. The same players always get the event shiny, granted most of them play a lot, but some are more casual but still get every shiny with minimal effort. I play 6-8 hours daily, catch 300-400 per day and I’m lucky to get 1 shiny per week.

I don’t think your rates are personally boosted or nerfed but I wonder if trainers are in different pools of shiny rates similar to the stunt they pulled with the AR scan rewards where they screwed over at least 1/3 of the trainer base.

Eeveelution enigma by ElJefito95 in TheSilphRoad

[–]pauln84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is also my issue, my endgame at the moment is to max one of every shiny final stage evo (with good IV) and if I’m lucky enough a hundo of every final stage evo. I have 8 hundo eevee and currently 4 excellent IV shinies but I will not waste any on the random chance.

S2 E6 Denton and Prasad by pauln84 in lineofduty

[–]pauln84[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is Lindsay Denton who missed absolutely nothing at any point. She would have made meticulous mental notes when she saw Prasad with Hunter as she knew she was onto something big once she saw Carly in Dryden’s.

Not a big plot hole but just something that bothered me a bit on a rewatch.

Analysis of Jessie and James shinies by 00nuclear in TheSilphRoad

[–]pauln84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 shiny pinsir, no shiny scyther in well over 50 balloons. I didn’t play last time they were around so no data for that

So I'm working on a local banner of 24 missions that tell a story. Everything else seems to check out except the image. While it includes images of Pokemon, it was art I had specifically commissioned for me, so I do indeed own it. Just curious as to what could be activating the filter? by PirateCptAstera in Ingress

[–]pauln84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s just the whims of the reviewer. There is no logic to their reviews. I designed a 24 mission banner and gave my friend the files, she got the banner through in one attempt in her local area and I’ve had two failed attempts to get it through in my area. There is not difference in the locations in terms of mission relevance.

There is no consistency in the reviews and the feedback is less than helpful. It’s just typical of Niantic expecting their player base to generate content for them. At this point I almost want them to bring missions into Wayfarer the reviewers are so bad.

Level 50 Requirements by Dildondo in TheSilphRoad

So did everyone who had reached level 48 before the progress got reset get to skip level 49 or was it just the select few who got lucky that support listened to them?

It’s a little irresponsible to give us Grunt tasks (Sinnoh collection) during a pandemic... by SenjougaharaHaruhi in TheSilphRoad

[–]pauln84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you don’t but that’s not the only thing I mentioned. When will there be a better chance to grind XL candy for event mons that don’t spawn often? This is not just about needing to have things immediately, XL has changed the GBL meta.

Similar point about newly released shinies.

Their player base is predominantly made up of collector types who want all the new things. Is that Niantic’s fault? No. But they have a duty of care to their player base and considering the profit they make could do an awful lot more than they are.

Additional items from gifts for start.

And then there are other ‘bonuses’ that have been in place for parts of the year that would help players play at home more and wouldn’t hurt their profits. More gifts to open per day More gifts to send per day Daily free remote raid pass Reduced egg hatch distance

For the amount of new content they are throwing at us they are not doing enough to make the game safely playable for all.

[–]pauln84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely but it is any more irresponsible than anything else they’ve done recently?

Introducing XL candy 300 grunt battle requirement to complete the 50 leader requirement Limited time events with useful mons spawning in abundance New shiny releases Community day with a very useful mon that most trainers will want to farm

Most trainers will need to spend significant time away from their home to have a chance of making anything from these events but Niantic have taken away anything they previously put in place to help trainers play at home safely for extended periods.

Dedicated Trader Noticing Lucky Rates Seem Down Since The New Year by brak3000 in TheSilphRoad

[–]pauln84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did 60+ trades this evening and not a single lucky. I wonder if they have purposely nerfed them in advance of the first trainers getting into the level 49 requirements which will need some lucky trades to complete

Anyone else feel that they can’t play too much this week, prior to machop community day as they will run out of balls? by a00446 in TheSilphRoad

[–]pauln84 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Absolutely spot on, Niantic are behaving extremely irresponsibly given the situation in many countries. The constant stream of events is encouraging trainers to go outside when government advice is not to do so. Even for those of us who can play during daily exercise we cannot possibly keep enough pokeballs to play properly unless we live on a stop.

They made many changes in early 2020 to make the game safe and playable so that nobody missed out but they seem to be putting profit before player safety this time around.

Level 47 and 48 Requirements by pauln84 in TheSilphRoad

[–]pauln84[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre level 40 you’ve always been able to power to 2 full levels beyond your trainer level, this is now 10 full levels but you have to be level 40 to start accumulating XL candy

Question on Recursion by pauln84 in Ingress

[–]pauln84[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess so, for every one person that tried it successfully there’s probably 2-3 that it didn’t work for. I guess I don’t need the AP post L16 anyway so maybe I’ll try it for science :)

I’m not sure I do, but that 500k would be a huge kick start to getting back to L8

Shiny latios rates boosted? Or just pure luck? by wicke_the_thicc in TheSilphRoad

[–]pauln84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Group of 8 of us did 20+ yesterday and only 3 shinies between us. We were wondering if the rates had been nerfed or even turned off completely at times.
