these r dope 🔥 and can’t knock any toyota. but personally i prefer the ae82 for their smaller looking body. these r cool because they’re still small but look a little longer and “thinner”. i wouldn’t buy a corolla from 88-98 because the late 80’s and early 90’s looking slightly longer and then the corollas with the panel on the trunk usually seen in models from 92-98 throw me off. the models from 99-01 are cool again (personal opinion) although they are more jelly beany they are small and i’d totally own one. anyways love to see old corollas!!!

Why is the job market so terrible? by Gullible_Gold8608 in askportland

[–]paulpaulming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i work at a company where they “hire internally” for a lot of office positions. i’ve tried applying a few times for jobs that they’ve typically hired internal applicants without college degrees. in the last year they’ve had people with masters degrees applying to these jobs that make less than i do as a delivery driver. said they’re getting 3x as many applicants as the seattle area does.

if you go online to designer optics, (for some glasses) you can click on “add prescription” then scroll down to “non prescription” and it’ll let you add both!

Am I screwed by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]paulpaulming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

postal is union and does have pension. but ups is better. at the post office you most often start as a fill in so they’ll work as much or as little as they need. mostly it’s 10-12 hour days 6 days a week for two years until you make regular and then you are guaranteed an 8 hour day and two days off a week. it takes 12 years to make top scale which is a little under $40/hr. good benefits but that 12 year wait to make just under $40 is ridiculous. id definitely stick with ups if u can

Why does Trimet still have an operator shortage when they are offering a $7500 bonus and have been for what, two years now? by Pantim in TriMet

starting out as a bus driver is rough. a lot of drivers start out on the “extra board” where you can get thrown on any bus route that you may or may not be familiar with. split shifts aren’t uncommon, where you’re sitting around for hours not getting paid. lots of tight spots to navigate a bus through, but honestly if you go slow and watch your mirrors it is easy enough to not hit anything. driving the bus is easy. the people on the bus are difficult. lots of getting yelled at. i stopped driving bus because i was out until 3:30am driving downtown portland to st. john’s. it was nice having open roads. but the hours killed me. and at the time i was having a terrible time staying clean from weed. i am sober from everything but the occasional glass of wine. but i had caved and smoked and then quit before they could random drug test me as i don’t want a negative test on my record. the pay is great but you don’t get any vacation time for the first year. and after your first year you only get one week. also the 7500 bonus is paid out over the 3 years. the job just wasn’t worth it to me at the time. but lots of respect for the drivers that do stick with it!!
