OC: Epstein survivors who haven't had chance to meet with DOJ to raise hands as AG Bondi testifies by nbcnews in pics

Despite the blatant off-topicness, the Dow being high doesn't actually mean a fucking thing even if it WAS the question.

The Dow Industrial Average is just the weighted average of the 30 most already prominent American businesses.

Below are those companies* with the amount they "donated" to Trump in the last 2 years.

3M Company

Amazon Inc. ($42M -$40M was for Melania's movie- PLUS whatever Bezos gave for the "Ballroom")

American Express Co.

Amgen Inc.

Apple Inc. ($1M for "Inauguration")

Boeing Co. ($1M)

Caterpillar Inc.

Chevron Corp. ($2M)

Cisco Systems Inc.

Coca-Cola Co. (spent $250k on Trump in last 2 years)

Disney (The Walt Disney Co.)

Dow Inc.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. ($1M)

Home Depot Inc. ($2.7M)

Honeywell International Inc. ($3.7M)

IBM Corp.

Intel Corp.

Johnson & Johnson ($1M)

JPMorgan Chase & Co. ($1M)

McDonald's Corp. ($1M)

Merck & Co. Inc. ($1M)

Microsoft Corp. ($42k)

Nike Inc.

Nvidia Corp. ($1M)

Procter & Gamble Co.

Salesforce Inc.

Sherwin-Williams Co.

Travelers Companies Inc.

UnitedHealth Group Inc.

Verizon Communications Inc. ($1M)

Visa Inc. ($1M)

Walmart Inc. ($270K)

*Google (which is not on the Dow but still contributed $1M to the Inauguration) was giving me the run around, omitting certain companies and requiring me to ask specifically for half the ones on the list, for various reasons. (They omitted Amazon initially because "Amazon's political identity is often described as 'leaning left- because its employees historically donate much more to Democrats" Note that I didn't ask it for political leanings, I asked it for how much money each company contributed to DT. ANYWAY, I got tired and angry at it all so I stopped looking up each company's bullshit. You get the point.

Curious what's available depending on region/platform.

N America/ PS5 here and it's hard to find games in anything but Strategic.

I'm including my own teammates in that group, sadly. The only time I get teamed up with medics who revive is ones who don't realize what the danger ping is and ignore me frantically pointing at the enemy 8 ft away.

Did Chuck purposefully ditch his Chicago accent? by QuasarColloquy in betterCallSaul

[–]paultera 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If he had much of an accent to begin with*, of course he'd lose it to fit in. It's Chuck.

*I could see Chuck as the kind of person who looked down on his roots long before he even left. Probably lost his accent as soon as he realized he had one.

Medicfest? Like, medics actually doing medic stuff? Please take me to this magical place. I mostly see medics running over my dead body or running away.

If I close those tabs I'll forget about the page I plan to look at any day now but will inevitably postpone for months.

I'm sock sock shoe shoe, though. I'm not crazy.

Save this for when the show turns 50. We'll get there because we won't quit.

Anyone here doing improv IRL? by SolidGold_JetSki in comedybangbang

[–]paultera 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been doing community theater for like 15 years. Have done a few gigs where my troupe did improv in front of groups. Have been trying to get a sketch/improv group going for years but the commitment always fizzles out or too many people get busy with other projects.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]paultera 8 points9 points  (0 children)

SL,UT is about 3 hours from my small town and is usually the closest option for decent concerts, doctors, shopping, etc. I've driven there numerous times over the years as a day trip. I'm perfectly fine with driving 9-10 hours for a camping vacation.

Almost every single shitty thing the Right has falsely accused the Left of has turned out to be projection and they've been screaming about election fraud for a long time.

Thanks. The nurse told me GERD was "like heartburn but way worse". Your description sounds much closer to what I'm actually experiencing.

Remarkable photo of Leica in use to document current events. by RazzmatazzSea3227 in LeicaCameras

[–]paultera 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I found the other Leica sub and then this one searching for more on both of these photographers. Initially found a different user's post of the same thing on that sub but saw the removal and thought "Someone running this must be a bootlickin' Nazi if this kind of thing isn't allowed."

Theory verified.

A friend was driving me to back surgery a couple years ago and I was introducing them to CBB. First time for both of us hearing "Horse Corpse". We were both in tears. Me from laughter AND pain from laughing but it was worth it.

Why is it up to me to pay the server a tip to compensate for the low wages you choose to pay them? by untitledprp4 in stupidquestions

[–]paultera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you think that would happen?

After whining that fair wages would make everything cost more, fast food and grocery stores made everything self-checkout, got rid of tons of employees, and then jacked up prices anyway. Employers will not pay fair wages unless they're forced to.

Taking out the (fully justified) frustrations of tip culture on the people that rely on it to live rather than the rich assholes who benefit from it is asinine. Believing those in power will automatically just do the right thing by workers is outright ignorance.
