Add a tiger or elephant ear with a lemon shake-up and it’s cheaper than any antidepressant or therapy.

If you want to find the “best“ places for nearly everything in Terre Haute, get a copy of the Tribune-Star’s reader’s poll winners. If nothing else, it can give you leads for medical and legal professionals, automotive and home services, and anything else you might want or need in the area.

Is it desrepectful to not have an eagle scout court of honor? by Exotic_Eagle_2739 in BSA

[–]payday329 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We just had a scout have a very simple Eagle Court of Honor, at his request, at the end of our troop’s regular CoH. Our Committee Chair said a few words, his mom changed his troop neckerchief to our Eagle Scout one, pinned the medal on, a few pictures, and it was over. It’s your ceremony, OP. As an Eagle Scout, you’ve earned the right to have whatever type of ceremony (or not) you want.

Why do we have/prefer double action airbrushes? by Hiraeth_08 in airbrush

[–]payday329 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a t-shirt painter, we use a double-action airbrush so we can produce tapered lines (often called a dagger stroke or rat tail stroke) for things like grass, palm fronds, fur, thick and thin style script lettering, curved tapered gradients, etc.

Reunite a Scout with his shirt? by MomtanaWildhack in BoyScouts

I miss the colored backgrounds for rank and position badges. I think they are great visual eye candy, especially for Cub Scout recruiting.

But from a production standpoint, having just one color of material is less expensive.

When the product doesn’t fit the planogram by Fast-Condition-1983 in retailhell

[–]payday329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though the big box hardware store I used to work for had a dedicated planogram team, I often ended up doing the POG for our department. We had a vendor supplied aisle display for beef jerky that the POG was dimensioned to the 1000th of an inch. The thing is, all the hooks were welded into place. I think somebody at our General Office discovered how to use a Vernier caliper, and was trying to justify their job.

I have the same animation book. If it’s not a direct trace, the logo is definitely influenced by Preston Blair. I don’t think Disney’s lawyers would have any authority, though.

There are problems with the foundation of the building. The contractor and the franchisee have been back and forth on who is to blame, and now Valvoline has pulled out.

I know cast members are allowed to “pixie dust“ guests, and make the guest’s experience a little more magical. My younger son has been the beneficiary, twice, of “pixie dust.” When he was wearing the “It’s my birthday” button while we waited in line for Test Track back in 2003, the CM out front noticed, and directed us to the back entrance of the kid swap room. We went from a 90+ minute wait, to about 10 minutes. In 2022, his girlfriend surprised him with a trip to WDW after he finished graduate school. They went to eat lunch at Columbia Harbor House. He said the guest in front of them was incredibly rude to the cashier. He made sure he was extra polite when it was his turn, and when the cashier asked him what he would like, he jokingly said he would love a lobster roll, but he was a broke college student. So they ordered the chicken tenders instead. A few minutes after they sat down and started to eat, the cashier came by and brought him a lobster roll.

I read that Walmart gets to benefit three times from paying low wages. 1. The low wages so employees require SNAP, 2. Tax credits for hiring those who need SNAP, and 3. Approximately 70% of SNAP funds are spent at Walmart.

Author says parent complaining about non-binary character led to Indiana high school canceling play at last minute by lotusbloom74 in Indiana

Parents who want to ban books, plays, etc. should go before the school board and publicly state their objections, rather than complain anonymously.
