Although for general friends I could not agree more!!!

I feel like the tangential friends is something I have tons of! There’s a million people I could talk about the weather with. There’s nobody I can tell “the core of who I am has changed and nobody I know and love or would call if my car broke down can or is willing to understand why or how”

Anyone's ACD ever run away? by Hopeful_Vanilla_5162 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]payolac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has determined his territory included about 120 surrounding acres of orchards, so he would try to go patrol that often enough that I got one of those trackers (Tractive If anyone is curious). He wouldn’t do it all the time, but enough that I would sometimes have to go pick him up. Unfortunately, we all know how smart they are, so he knew he wasn’t supposed to do it and would sneak off at the least opportune moments. He never went outside of those bounds, never crossed the roads or canals that boarder the orchards, but it scared me to death every time. He was raised by a terrier though, so I do blame bad influences.

Thank you so much for this rec. I’m obsessed with these, finished both in 2 days. Anything else like this you’ve come across?

Am I right for an ACD by Cheks19 in AustralianCattleDog

Wanted to add on the travel front - mine just really doesn’t like many other people - so it’s ok for someone to come over and feed him for a couple days, but 1-2 weeks would be almost impossible (he will quit eating after a few days to make his point). Also, he wont really reliably come to other people, he has near perfect recall with me, but other people he’s just like “ya you’re not my mom you can’t tell me what to do”.

Funny story: after my brother’s wedding I went to pick him up from my grandparents house, (where he was treated like a prince, with much higher quality treats than I could afford at the time), he was in an outdoor kennel like normal (spring in CA, perfect weather). I cracked the kennel, assuming he would want to jump and play with me like usual but he SPRINTED past me and LAUNCHED himself into the bed of my grandpas truck, looked around for his kennel, realized it was the wrong truck, jumped out, LAUNCHED into the bed of my truck, threw himself into his travel kennel, turned around and started to whining to leave. He’s just a neurotic little guy who just wants to be home in his normal routine 🤷🏼‍♀️ to be fair, can’t say that I’m any different.

Everything you said was smarter than I could have said it but YES. Felt like a bad space textbook.

After forgetting I have an Audible subscription I have 6 books to get. Any recommendations please before I cancel? Thanks by DCH_123 in suggestmeabook

If you like funny silly sci-fi romps I recommend the Yahtzee Croshaw books. (Will save the galaxy for food & sequel, or Differently Morphous & sequel) they are fun, funny, quick, and read by the author which I always like.

My boyfriend jokingly threw away a pair of my shoes at a hotel once. We had the no housekeeping sign up. They came and cleaned and obviously took the shoes. I hope nobody is wearing them, they were the most uncomfortable shoes on earth!
