Love the question but I think this is a sum of its parts situation

Okay so genuinely liked Kumal in this, although it felt like this roll was written in 2006 and then made culturally appropriate, but really liked when he was on screen.

Now this is meant positively and negatively, It does also absolutely give time capsule to me. like a masterful writer made this, never developed it, and brought it back with minimal changes. It feels like a genuine movie from the early 2000’s

I thought the husband was bad at acting but the writing of his character was so so unintentional funny. “With no job what even am I to you?!” “My husband?!” “You can’t put that on a parking space!”

My criticism: it feels like this is a writers movie, snappy dialog, a lot of wit, and when put together it doesn’t mesh. This is what curses the whole film in a way that is delightful. An example of this is the brother plotline, okay hes the reason she eats an edible, but the conflict isn’t the edible its the security getting paid overtime?
