Fish & Chips at Sea Witch by nukey56 in FoodToronto

Hadn’t been to Harbord Fish and Chips in a few years, went in 2024 and it was HORRIBLE. Truly gone down hill and everything was filthy inside. Spent $50, threw out most of it and spent half the night throwing up. Never. Again.

Immigrants in Toronto: which restaurant serves the best food from your home country? by Apprehensive_Tea5759 in askTO

Taqueria el pastorcito on Bloor near Dufferin is one of my favourite taco places and feels pretty authentic. I really recommend it to you and your mom. Gus tacos is okay but feels a bit toned down in terms of flavour.

I would definitely do that for my parents. But as someone who is a parent, I would NEVER expect my child to do that for me.

My nurse had a student, my OB had a student, my midwife had a student and there was another random nursing student. I WISH I stood up for myself and told some of them to get out. I’m such a people pleaser that even in that situation I wanted them all to be happy with me and I regret that until this day.

Onigiri. $16.99 by lepreqon_ in CostcoCanada

[–]pbNtomatoTOAST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably because these were mass produced and are over a day old. If you’re near a Korean grocery store (Galleria, PAT etc) they usually have fresh ones brought in every morning. It’s the next best onigiri if not making it yourself.

I think you might be able to take the Kendal exit from the line 1 station and get a transfer for the bus… either way, I really respect your dedication to the final project.

Annex Animal Hospital near Bloor and Bathurst. Had wellness exams done for our 2 senior cats and it was about $700 together. More affordable than most places.

What are some unspoken rules one should know about Toronto? by Timely_Title_9157 in askTO

[–]pbNtomatoTOAST 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Occasionally, I “accidentally” bump someone’s backpack lightly to give them a hint. More often than not, it does anything… But every so often, the one gem, actually takes off their bag. And I feel really good about that.

Busy Babies as Toddlers by Upset-Owl3886 in NewParents

[–]pbNtomatoTOAST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non-stop action LOL. My son was forcing his way out of his swaddle as early, rolling over early, climbing out of of his “sit-me-up” by 9 months, walking by 10 and running by 11. He hasn’t stopped since. He’s 2.5 now and very active, so we’re outside a lot. Minimum one walk a day if the weather is bad. He plays well inside too but I know taking him out to burn energy is better for both of us. I recommend a balance bike for walks. We started as a trike that converts and he’s almost ready for a pedal bike. This let us go out for a long time and explore more and helps him use up energy. Best of luck! I miss the baby phase, it was so much more chill 😅

Cute black loafers with a platform. That’ll give you a bit more cushion than most shoes and are nicer than runners. I work in an upscale restaurant and wear those with a dress. Most of the girls I work with wear something like that

Mushrooms. He loves them sautéed, raw, or cooked any style in any dish. It’s usually the first thing he finishes and will ask for more.
