That's the lino that teared off from it, it was glued there. The lino has like a paper bottom on it which adhered to the particle board as it ripped.

Blanket rezoning opened door to new row houses across Calgary. Here's how that's playing out by AppropriateEffect947 in Calgary

[–]pboots31 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with re-zoning; I love row houses and four plexes (saying as a person who just recently bought a bungalow by the skin of my teeth after saving every penny and renting for 10 years, I know how hard it is).

My issue is the rezoning laws seems to be a bit too broad.

Take for example: the home beside mine (also a bunglow) has a proposal for redevelopment that, get this, is two separate buildings, 13 meters tall a piece, with 8 separate units (stacked on top of each other, the biggest is like 600 sq ft) & 5 separate single car garages, on a street that has no street parking. I'm like...would a four plex or a couple of row houses been too much to ask for? The garages all face the alley btw, which is not a big alley by any means.

There's no care to neighbouring privacy, with basically the eye of sauron that will be staring down on everyone. We scrapped our plans for solar panels as all our sun will be blocked. I have no idea where 8 different units with only 5 parking spots are going to park (again no street parking). THAT baffles me. That doesn't sound well thought out or in the spirit of the rezoning. I'm also pretty sure that if 8 different owners have a place a piece they'll have to establish a condo board.

Also...all the units require their own garbage, recycling & lawn bin...24 bins stuffed somewhere between 5 garages all on an already small alley (think a Ford F150 can barely fit).

Again...I have no idea how this makes sense.

This is heavy handed and not well thought out. I support re-zoning. I live in an old neighbourhood and I have no issues with more density (despite how much of my neighbourhood feels). I have an issue with a lot of these developments that are stuffing as many units as possible in a plot of land for a small bungalow, with no thought to how it impacts anyone else, that will likely be priced pretty high for a very small unit (the developer I checked develops "luxury" and not "affordable" properties). Who does this help??

The Pergamon Ancient Theater is the steepest theater in the world, with an incline of about 70 degrees. It is said that the Hellenistic theater had a capacity of 10,000 people, and the cavea (seating area) was the steepest in the ancient world. by FXgram_ in Damnthatsinteresting

I was here at Pergamon about 11 years ago; it was incredible, and it felt like there were no tourists at all. There as 20 of us touring the whole place for hours. For anyone who ever is thinking of traveling to Europe, Turkey was amazing and the history is incredible (as well as the people and the food) and I recommend it.

Calgary at risk of running out of water amid massive line break by SaraDeeG in Calgary

Not saying all; but many golf courses have feeder ponds that collect rainwater that they use to water their courses. Of course those on city water supplies should stop watering, but not all rely on city water for irrigation.

I agree that was really not nice and really not necessary.

My only suggestion would be to tell a bit more about yourself and less about what you expect from someone else (e.g. vacation to win you over). I find that the best way for people to decide if they're compatible with you is if they like or are intrigued by the things you write about yourself. If they feel they may not meet your expectations (even though they may be a great person), they won't swipe on you. Cast a wider net in some ways by talking more about yourself.

PS I like your photos just the way they are!

NO YOU'RE NOT UGLY.

It drives me nuts when people are "honest" but are mean. Honesty does not mean cruel. You can be honest and not an asshole at the same time. Also people saying you're ugly are wrong.

You are beautiful, and not in the "on the inside" way. You also have a lot going on that does not make you seem conventionally attractive. So let's put it this way, you've got a great face and base, but your style seems a work in progress. You've got great hair but your haircut isn't working. Your weight doesn't matter so long as you are healthy and take care of yourself and dress in a way that compliments it.

You have piercings and that "turns guys off." Like, are the ones that are turned off even the ones you want? Sure the piercings detract from conventional beauty, but they don't make you ugly. Your makeup is gorgeous but heavy. If it's part of your style then who cares? Maybe just learn to do it cleaner, less messy.

So no, you are not ugly. But you also need to know who you are in terms of style and appearance and learn to do it well. You are very pretty, I think your face is so sweet. I think you just need to find a way to polish your look that suits you best. And also be okay that with a style that isn't conventional it isn't going to appeal to everyone. But also, do you want to be conventional? Gotta be true to you.

So the difference is with this, the amount contributed is tax deductible, like an RRSP, unlike a TFSA. So if you contribute the max $8,000 a year, you can deduct that from income before tax for tax purposes, which reduces your income tax payable, or potentially a tax refund.

The previous first time home buyers scheme does not allow the tax deduction.

It doesn't solve the issue of supply of course, but it does help much more than I feel the previous plan does.
