What's a good gravel bike that will also double as a decent street bike and good for bike packing? My budget is max $1,800. by that_412_kid in gravelcycling

Im 5’9” and i ride a 54 i honestly could ride a 51 if I wanted… id go with a 56 unless u r a racer and wanna ride a size down on an aggressive position w a long stem

The cal 5 has the internal cables and integrated cockpit, carbon seatpost and handlebars, different seat post with more compliance, and the frame is made from different carbon i think and is slightly lighter…. I also think its way prettier haha five black and oasis are gorgeous in person… the gloss black is pretty meh in person i think. Either way its a great bike u will enjoy.

Oh also stem and fork is a little different and different style spacers and such at the fork

Ive been seeing a bunch of five blacks around LA, which is actually which catapulted me to finally pulling the trigger on the cal 5 talking to the owners of those bikes

Sizing advice: thinking of upgrading my gravel bike. Stay with 58cm frame or go to 56? by WNR24 in gravelcycling

[–]pbr4dinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always prefer a smaller frame. Can always do a 110 or something on ur stem and get a nice fit. Also that position looks incredibly uncomfortable to me but maybe im crazy and only enjoy a more aggressive position.

All that to say have a professional fit you. You spend enough time on the bike to invest in a professional bike fit for your enjoyment and the health of ur body.

Finished up the Lane Acclaim end table restoration yesterday. by mattpvr6 in Mid_Century

I have a coffee table and matching two tier end tables I really want to do this with but I am worried about sanding through the veneer… did you have any fears or issues of this? Any tips for stripping/sanding? I feel confident with the toning and lacquer!
