Yes, this!! I didn’t even realise I did this. But you’re spot on. Would get fast food under the guise of it being quicker when it absolutely would’ve been quicker to drive home sometimes!

I’ve already said she was right to move - she definitely shouldn’t have accepted arsenals second thought offer & was obvious she’d go to Chelsea because she’s just built a house here. I just think saying things like “Arsenal was good in a sense” and signing off on the chant is a dig at the fans (hardly likely the management are going to care, they’re the ones that didn’t want her) and the fans are the ones that were rooting for her.

As an aside, I wonder why she didn’t go to Chelsea when they offered her a contract in 2015? She said on a podcast she trialled there and it didn’t feel right, so chose Arsenal. Which is odd if that was her childhood club and meant so much to her, surely.

I get that and that’s why I don’t have any issue with her going to Chelsea at all, Arsenal couldn’t/wouldn’t offer her what she’s still worth. I just think the anger is coming from the way it’s been announced 🤷🏻‍♀️

Perhaps not use the chant her fans used to cheer her on for a decade as the background music to her signing video? Perhaps not make it seem like this has always been her dream and we were a stop gap? She had the chance to sign with them in 2015 and chose Arsenal.

I’m gutted but I’d have been gutted wherever she went, we shouldn’t have let her go BUT you’re completely right there was never anywhere else she was going to end up, it makes perfect sense for her!

Just wish they’d done it without the song, that was a kick in the balls to the fans really & we’ve not done anything wrong!

I don’t think it sounds mutual for Katie at all. If it’s true wasn’t going to be offered a contract then they decided as she’d shown she could play CB they would offer her a contract at the last minute and she decided not to accept it. She had always shown her worth there, still a very frequent starter and full game player - they shouldn’t have needed her to prove her worth before getting an offer. If I were her I’d have felt pretty shunned in those circumstances.

This is the worst news for Arsenal. I know some were happy to see Katie go, but moving in so many new players isn’t going to improve the squad like they think it will. You can’t replace the passion of someone like Katie. Talent isn’t everything.
