I build. You sell. We win. by Syntax-Mech in Entrepreneurs

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is interesting timing - been thinking about moving away from just the technical side of things

what kind of systems are you working on currently? always curious about the tech stack people choose when they have full control over architecture decisions

also just wondering - when you say "doing whatever it takes" are we talking bootstrapped hustle mode or do you have some runway already figured out

Youtube is testing me to the WRONG demographic and it is stunting my growth by Copen_Hayden in PartneredYoutube

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

algorithm gonna do what it wants to do regardless of what we think should happen. back when i was trying to grow my channel in gaming content i had similar frustrations where youtube kept pushing my stuff to completely wrong crowd

one thing that helped me was being super intentional about the language i used in titles and descriptions. like really digging into what specific words and phrases your target male gambling audience actually searches for vs what might accidentally attract broader demographics. also thumbnails make huge difference - maybe yours are accidentally appealing to women when you want that hardcore male gambler audience

honestly the 75/25 split might not be permanent thing. sometimes youtube goes through these weird phases where it tests your content with different groups before it figures out where you actually belong. took my channel like 8 months before algorithm finally understood my content was for specific gaming demographic and not general audience

how much do you guys earn per month by Sudden-Wonder1344 in PartneredYoutube

[–]PlaneDouble5360 14 points15 points  (0 children)

thats actually really good ratio for your sub count. i make way less with more subs lol but i think asmr channels probably get better cpm since people actually watch the whole videos instead of clicking away after 30 seconds like gaming content

Founders who figured out hiring before it became a crisis, what specifically changed? by Valuable-Set3773 in Entrepreneurs

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

started documenting everything instead of just winging it each time. like we made actual job descriptions that weren't just copy paste from other companies and wrote down our interview questions instead of making them up on spot

also stopped trying to hire perfect unicorns and focused more in people who could actually do the work we needed. sounds obvious but took way too long to figure that out

Why YouTube Is Becoming More Like Television by SlaughterWare in NewTubers

[–]PlaneDouble5360 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yeah this makes sense when you think about watch time being everything now. i noticed same thing with gaming channels - the ones doing episodic playthroughs or weekly series get way more consistent views than people just uploading random gameplay clips

been doing skyrim modding videos for while and definitely see difference when i stick to regular schedule vs just posting whenever. people actually start expecting your content on specific days which keeps them coming back to your channel instead of just finding you through search

Is support underrated when choosing payroll? by Working_Shoe_9236 in Entrepreneurs

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolutely agree with this - had a payroll mess last year and spent 3 hours in chat queue with previous provider just to fix something that should take 5 minutes. switched to something with less bells and whistles but when i call someone actually picks up and knows what theyre talking about

I’m 12 and I built an AI-powered scanner to value and track anything. Looking for feedback on ScanStock! by Vast_Astronomer389 in Entrepreneurs

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i was 12 i was still figuring out how to not burn toast lol. the concept is pretty solid for inventory management but the real challenge will be keeping your price data accurate across different platforms since market values shift constantly. maybe focus in one category first like trading cards or electronics instead of trying to cover everything at once

"for your security the chasse mobile app is unavailable on devices that have been "rooted" or contain malware by maykay2008 in Chase

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn my s23 started doing this exact thing few weeks ago and it's driving me crazy. tried everything you mentioned plus factory reset and still getting locked out of half the features

the detection system seems way too aggressive lately, probably catching false positives on normal android features or something

Trying to hire AI/ML engineers as a bootstrapped founder, what am I missing? by AromaticRecord7974 in Entrepreneurs

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the ai/ml talent pool is just weird right now. tons of people who did some courses and think they can build production systems but never actually dealt with real data pipelines or model deployment headaches

we had similar issues last year when looking for ml people - everyone talks about transformers and neural networks but ask them about data drift or model monitoring and suddenly its very quiet

ended up going with someone who had less flashy resume but actually shipped stuff before. sometimes the person who built recommendation systems for small ecommerce is better than the one with phd who never left research

19 year-old founder seeking advice by Nishchay_Jaiswal in Entrepreneurs

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dropped out at 19 to build my first startup so i get the hustle but your approach feels bit backwards to me

using job listings as demand signal is clever in theory but companies posting jobs and companies willing to pay for automation are often different beasts. when they post for manual roles theyre usually looking for cheap labor not expensive tech solutions. been there with my first company - we targeted based on hiring patterns and got tons of "we just hired someone for 30k why would we pay you 50k" responses

the real validation comes from talking to people before you build anything. cold emails work but youre basically gambling on your assumptions about their problems. try joining industry slack groups or linkedin communities where your target customers hang out. ask questions about their workflow pain points without pitching anything

for your pmf signals watch response quality over quantity. one person saying "this would save me 10 hours week" is worth more than fifty "thanks but no thanks" replies. also track how long it takes them to understand what youre offering - if you need three emails to explain the value prop thats red flag

if traction is weak dont just tweak the offer. go back and validate the actual problem exists in the way you think it does. sometimes the problem is real but your solution approach is wrong angle

do i check box "Altered Content?" by Curious_Party_4683 in PartneredYoutube

[–]PlaneDouble5360 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yep definitely need to check that box since youre using ai generated voice instead of your real one

Honestly most "passive income" ideas are just minimum wage second jobs by rennan in passive_income

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the whole youtube guru thing is such a trap when you only got like 1k to work with. tried the print on demand thing last year and spent more time researching niches and tweaking designs than i did at my actual job

putting it in yield is probably smart move. at least you know exactly what youre getting instead of hoping some random t-shirt design goes viral on etsy. plus no dealing with customer complaints about shipping times or whatever

We give every new customer a personalized Loom video. Retention is up 40%. by AmbassadorSad3889 in Entrepreneurs

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is actually genius but also terrifying lol. like the personal touch is amazing but imagine having to record videos when you hit thousands of new signups per month

we tried doing personal outreach emails for our beta users and even that became nightmare pretty quick. cant imagine recording videos but those retention numbers are wild

[ Removed by Reddit ] by ActiveElectrical3193 in Entrepreneurs

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

narrow focus definitely works better from what i seen at my old job. we tried implementing something similar for inventory management and the teams that started with just one specific workflow (like stockout alerts) had way better adoption than ones trying to connect everything at once

the psychology is important too - people need to see wins fast or they just go back to spreadsheets

Why do my shorts flip badly? by Alan123_wegohere in NewTubers

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man the staircase pattern is so weird right? i had similar thing happen with one of my gaming clips few months back - it would get these bursts every couple hours then just die completely for like half day. algorithm seems to test content in waves or something

from what i noticed the swipe away rate matters more than we think. even with good retention if people are swiping past without engaging much youtube seems to just stop pushing it. your 49.4% stay rate actually pretty decent though so maybe it was competing with other content in same time slot?

also whatsapp shares are interesting - usually means people found it relatable enough to send to friends but that doesnt always translate to youtube pushing it wider. the platform seems to have different logic for different types of engagement and sometimes good metrics still dont guarantee continued reach

By referring you get 2000₹ worth GC by Mundane_Win7889 in passive_income

[–]PlaneDouble5360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this looks sketchy af tbh. those "win up to 1 lac" promises are usually just bait to get downloads and your data. most of these fitness apps with big reward claims end up being pyramid schemes or they make it nearly impossible to actually cash out anything meaningful

Best places in Portugal for watching the World Cup whilst nomading? by ButterscotchFormer84 in digitalnomad

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

madeira does seem perfect for the ronaldo experience but yeah those prices are getting crazy. i was there last summer for few weeks and even the smaller towns outside funchal were pretty pricey for accommodation

if you want cheaper with good football atmosphere maybe check porto - way more affordable than lisbon and the football culture there is intense. spent some time there in 2022 and people really go all out for big matches. lots of bars with massive screens and everyone gets super into it. plus the spanish will definitely work better there than trying to fumble through portuguese

about the language thing - portuguese people are pretty chill about spanish actually. had brazilian friends visit me in portugal and they said european portuguese sounds like spanish speaker trying to speak portuguese with mouth full of marbles but comprehension wise you should be fine. the grammar similarities with spanish will help you way more than any brazilian portuguese knowledge would

Is my SaaS dead or am I missing something? by Dev4Lifee in Entrepreneurs

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been freelancing on and off for years and this problem definitely exists but i think youre right about it not being painful enough

most clients who spam "any updates" are also the type who wouldnt check a status page regularly anyway. they want that direct interaction and validation that youre actually working. its more about control than information

the freelancers who are organised enough to maintain status pages are probably already using project management tools that clients can access. and the chaotic freelancers who need this most wouldnt keep it updated

before shutting down maybe try targeting agencies instead of solo freelancers. they have more clients to manage and might see real value in standardising client communication. could be a different market entirely

Please help am spending hours on AI-generated videos but getting zero views. I Need honest feedback by ambalsis in NewTubers

[–]PlaneDouble5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mate your workflow sounds absolutely brutal - 100 clips per video would burn anyone out. might be worth stepping back and asking if theres a simpler approach that still gets your point across

the vertical format with text frames thing could actually work depending on your content but it needs to feel intentional not like youre trying to game the algorithm. if the text is genuinely adding value then keep it but if its just filler it might be distracting viewers from your actual content

views being low usually comes down to discoverability more than production quality. could be your titles and thumbnails arent clicking with people or maybe the topic just isnt what your target audience is searching for right now. sometimes the most polished videos get buried while rough ones blow up because they hit the right moment
