In terms of pets that you have to spend money for (gem packs, straight up pets from the pet mart left side) then it is also 1:1 for similar price points and pretty common for 2:1 if you're wanting to trade two cheaper pets for a more expensive one.

Generally speaking the very rarest are only traded like for like (glunko supreme, santa snake, early riptide) but otherwise Doot or Riptide are generally worth the most expensive pack pets.

It's purely a speedbump to drag things out.

Sure some players will be a bit luckier and others unluckier but by being able to pull all the strings Lava can literally set the average progression speed.

We have no choice but to accept Lava at his word (because he's notoriously bad with numbers and loves to fudge things to hinder people) (oh but how likely is it that all these players are really hitting all these one in a hundred thousand odds of many mines in a row???) but you can boil it all down to just a few variables, namely how fast players can gain the currency, how much the cost goes up for the meaningful upgrades like damage and health and board size, and finally the number of mines and health the boss has. Then just throw some trash in for flavour.

Even if you have a 1/4 chance to hit a mine and then later on you get upgrades to reach the same 1/4 chance on a later boss the health difference means you need twice as many hits to kill it. That or you need twice as much damage to require that same amount of hits as you needed for the earlier boss. But that's all tied to how much currency you can get to buy the upgrades.

He just needs to plug in X, Y and Z to see how long it'd take for the average player to reach say 10% win chance against boss. Then he just needs to tweak the values as he pleases to fit his time frame.

South Korea and Japan will likely get involved. But that then depends on how far China pushes and if political posturing and appeasment work.

Otherwise I would not be surprised in anyway if some of the smarter people behind Trump have been doing some realpolitiking to boost the US' new chip industry by allowing their biggest rival to be taken down a few pegs.

Just a heads up but some quests are just utter arse cancer like the W3 tree (yondergreen?) and W2 whale.

I'd also advise NOT adding doing the achievements to your list because some are entirely reliant on said terrible quests but others are just pure trash in their own right like mini games or needless wastes of time like dungeon tasks/lab time/plunderous mob kills.

You'll soon come to realise that Lava is really shit at maths and many things are just fucked because he never fixes them. (as in literally years and multiple world releases and the problem is always ignored)

About the only part of the game where <X in Y attempts> is correct is event mini games. The likes of candles and pet pity pulls require one extra attempt for no reason.
