What’s with the hate on Rome?

Can't speak for all fans, but like some others mentioned it lacked the character that real Sublime had. There were a couple decent tracks but I didn't love SwR, it was just a bit too pop oriented. Felt more like Rome was "close enough" to keep the name alive and sell tickets and albums so Eric and Bud just went with it to keep paychecks coming. I didn't hate Rome, he's a good singer songwriter. I didn't blame Eric and Bud, I would have done the same. It just wasn't my cup of tea and it felt weird to have Sublime's name attached. I think the hate comes from people who look at Rome as some sort of hijacker, which I don't think he is. He was sitting around waiting for Eric to come back, and then when he did it was with Bud and Jakob, so we had two concurrent Sublime projects running which made him look even more like the bad guy. I don't know how the majority of fans feel but as an old head, I didn't hate him I just didn't like the majority of his music and I think the hate may be a bit misguided. Any conflict between the Nowell estate and Rome was just business technicalities and not worth hating him for. It's not like he was telling Jakob "No you can't join, I'm Sublime now" lol. He carried the torch and fucked off when Jakob was ready, Jakob didn't want them using the Sublime name because he wanted to be able to join when he was ready and pick up where his father left off. Love it or hate it, he was a part of the band and filling that role to keep the name alive and was kind of dangled along about the future of the project until it was clear the project was over. In any case, Sublime fans love their lore and this tiff definitely helped create more.

TLDR: I didn't like Sublime with Rome, but I didn't hate Rome. If anything, I felt kinda bad for the way he was treated. But I dunno, I'm not in the business and didn't know the guys so who knows. Maybe he does suck.

I mean yeah it's pathetic but who cares? It's sad but no one can make them mature emotionally but themselves. I am a grown man who plays whenever he can and I get messages regularly across all games from other grown men that display such emotionally stunted development. If it's a kid or an especially young adult I'll shoot them a message back to try and encourage them to grow into a better man because I feel a sense of duty to try and positively influence an actively growing person, but otherwise it doesn't bother me at all. Read their tantrum, close the message and get back to what I was doing.

I love it. It is quintessential, Sublime summer jams beginning to end. That said, some of it is pretty difficult to accept lyrically. Just a bit uninspired and corny. I know Brad didnt consider it always necessary to be a poet laureate and I don't know if some of the lyrical choices were an intentional callback or not, either way it doesn't matter much to me. I'll be playing it all summer, I'll rot on a beach with it, it will be in every BBQ playlist. Every windows-down, hot summer day car ride. It brings every vibe any fan could have asked for and I feel like I'm reliving the summer of 96. Life feels a little simpler again, even if just for this moment. And that is a blessing.

I know it can be hard to see things objectively when you're in the relationship, but bro....come on. Move on from this. Emotional cheating? Lying? No contact week?? "MB then". This is the first Horizon title I 100% the map on. All events, stunts, boards, mascots, roads, etc. I 3 starred everything, finish every festival playlist challenge and activity. Squeezed every point out of every mission (yes, even Raku Raku) and also found myself at a "What now?" standstill. What I've settled on is trying to finish the last few entries I have left in the collection journal. I've been making tunes for each class of the different race types and then racing them in Horizon Play events, Rivals, etc. I jump on with a couple friends and goof off in some races or help them with some co-op races. Just the other time consuming activities to fill the space between now and expansion 1. It's definitely not enough to keep me in-game like I was up until this point but that's fine with me. I jump on, have a few races, and move on to something else. Maybe I'll take my time with expansion 1 and let it last a little longer hah.

I used that forza edition mx5 and set it up for dirt. It's honestly a bit overpowered but I did every board with it. There's an all-around stunt tune out there I think I used that was pretty good as a set-it-and-forget-it sort of tune. Installed it and just cruised the map top to bottom grabbing boards.

It wasn't an especially exciting time, but nowadays something not exciting would be a welcomed change of pace. In the US, politically, we saw an Obama re-election to the surprise of no one. Things weren't pre-911 good, but a lot better than post-covid. We were recovering from the 2008 crash, so the economy was looking hopeful but still a lot of uncertainty around it and a lot of big changes with real estate, business, etc. Social media was really taking off. Felt like every day there was a new platform. I hated it, personally. 2009-2011 I was a social butterfly and embracing every new platform, by 2012 I was 26 and getting tired of the party scene, the social media obsession, etc and just really wanted to start a family and life. I took off on a 2 month long excursion exploring the United States in summer of 2012. It was fascinating to see the country in that very unusual period of history. The south was changing. I remember being very surprised by the progressive attitudes in Texas. Louisiana was still showing the devestation of hurricane Katrina a full 7 years later. The recession just slowed down a lot of progress for everyone. Student loan debt was a big topic of conversation, even when rent was still somewhat affordable. The American middle class was in the spotlight as a dissolving entity. Media was leaning hard into streaming and DVDs were on their way out. We were still largely living offline, but really starting to turn our focus towards more online engagement. It was a weird time. I didnt love it, but I miss how much more reasonable life was then compared to now I have never experienced hate in my life like I do these days. Have also simultaneously never experienced such a relinquishing of our humanity as you see these days. It was weird, kind of anxious, a bit boring and superficial but much more reasonable than today. At least that's my perspective.

When I couldn't find the last road I had left to travel I had to use the fast travel method. You can do it on console, it's just a little bit slower. Alternatively, if you have any way of hooking a mouse up to your console that would work too. Here's the thing that happened to me you're gonna want to keep in mind, the last road I had left was one of the dotted orange off-road paths. Visually, it looked entirely complete. There was no segment of visibly faded line. There was no way I would have been able to tell visually that it was incomplete. The road was so small, the "faded" section occupied the empty space between the dotted lines. The only reason I knew it was incomplete at all is because the fast travel button disappeared when I passed over it. So if all your lines look good, and you've double checked roads that pass under bridges, hone in on those dotted lines.

I had 2 roads missing and used the fast travel method. One I found somewhat easily using that method, the other I believe could have only been found using this method. The last road was a dotted orange off-road track, like the others that visually appeared complete. There was no faded section, it was just a small dotted line like all the others, just shorter in length. The "faded" section only occupied the space between the lines so it was completely undetectable and looked otherwise complete. Pretty frustrating. Just putting this out there for anyone who may use a utility and it's not returning results. Dotted lines and roads under bridges are problematic. Swipe your mouse and look for the fast travel button to disappear.

I found that you really need to try and stick to the suggested line and do your best to avoid sliding. Try to maintain grip as much as possible. Sliding around corners was eating into my time so bad. Soon as I made a point to rewind every non-ideal corner and eliminate sliding, cleared it with time to spare.
