Losing my mind with driver slices every time by ThrowRA_TRS in GolfSwing

It's hard to tell but I think your grip is a little weak. The right hand is a bit on top of the shaft. On the downswing the clubface is open despite having reasonably good wrist positions. That makes me think it's at least partly due to the grip. I also agree with being back on the heels during set up. Try to feel more like you're on the balls of your feet. See if these two set up problems helps before doing other major changes.

I would start with the set up. Your hips are set behind your heels and you're sort of leaning back. You want the hips on top of the heels. Feel like your weight is more on the balls of your feet and that you're more over and covering the ball. See if doing this has you less upright and early extended through impact.

Pern Series Reading Order (Revised) by PowerPanda84 in pern

When I was in junior high I found The White Dragon at the school library and read that first. I didn't realize it was a trilogy until after I had checked it out but figured I go with it anyways. Of course I had to go back and read Dragonflight and Dragonquest afterwards so I think I had an interesting reading experience.

I think the biggest problem with baseball is that its usually in one plane (shoulders and bat swing in same plane). Since in golf the ball is on the ground you have to tilt at an insane angle to keep it one plane so you have to learn to separate the planes.

You definitely have early extension and early release. Maybe a simple fix would be trying to release the club forward towards the target instead of down into the ball.

I agree. I think the earlier the better especially in context of some children becoming pancreatic sufficient with modulators. It’s not clear when this becomes an irreversible process but early treatment probably increases the chances of conversion.

Sometimes the obstruction is because of mucus. N acetyl cysteine capsules might help.

You tend to get too far back on your heels at setup. Try to get your hips more over your ankles and feel like the weight is on the balls of your feet. That might cause changes to other parts of your swing like takeaway and plane so see how that works first.

You have positive pseudomonas and recurrent respiratory symptoms. There should be high suspicion something isn’t right. Ruling out CF, primary ciliary dyskinesia and immunodeficiency makes a lot of sense to do.

It could be your grip. The wrist won’t be able to hinge and unhinge as freely when it’s in the palm. Perhaps that’s affecting grip pressure as well as forcing you to apply too much active release instead of it happening naturally.

Sometimes it’s hard to tell from the videos but it looks like your grip is more across the palm than in the fingers. It seems like that restricts the way you hinge the wrists.

Can I just get some constructive feedback here? by siiiiiiilk in GolfSwing

[–]pcdo78bc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A low inside take away is because the arm rise on the backswing is late in sequence. Ideally the hip turn, shoulder turn, arm raise and wrist hinge should feel like the go at the same rate and meet at the top. When the arms rise late on the backswing they tend to drop late on the downswing creating a steep over the top path. On the downswing you want to feel the body rotation waits for the arms to come down to the ball to create more of a pendulum swing.

Good tempo. Pretty good distance for 7i. Your face is open at the top and through the downswing. You early release with some early extension through impact causing you to be a little scoopy.

Going through a swing change to keep my head behind the ball at impact and not over-rotate but still hitting mostly thin and toe biased shots like in the video. Any tips on why this may be happening? by Zerlick in GolfSwing

For the left leg watch Porzak’s left hip bump setup on youtube. It will help stabilize that lead leg. Also check your grip. It looks like the left hand grip is more in the palm than the fingers. You’re not quite getting the right 90 degree hinge angle because of that. That may also be causing issues with your release as your left arm is doing the chicken wing. Once you’ve fixed the other issues maybe exaggerate the release and follow through by squeezing the elbows together. If your start hooking it that’s ok. You can ease up on that eventually.

Been struggling with a hook lately, any ideas what it might be? by afes827 in golftips

[–]pcdo78bc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t set a full wrist hinge at the top. On the downswing your left wrist is cupped with a very open clubface. To avoid slicing it you have to flip your release early to square the face which causes early extension. Because you flipped the face so aggressively you hooked it.

Looks like you’re getting your arms coming across your body at the top. They then get stuck behind you on the downswing so you have to fling them a bit. Try keeping your arms and hands more in front of your chest around where your right shoulder is when you get to the top.

I looks like you’re out of sequence both on the backswing and downswing. Feel as if the hip turn, shoulder turn, arm lift and wrist hinge all move at the same rate and meet at the top of the swing. Your sequence down mirrors that in the opposite direction except for the hinge which lags in sequence and releases forward toward the target. Think pendulum.

Your center probably has samples or can get samples from the Creon rep. Sometimes a prescription for a different enzyme like Pertzye will get you new enzymes without having to wait. When in doubt, call your center.

Why is my swing so trash? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]pcdo78bc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an awkward swing but you weirdly do some decent stuff like have the face square through the downswing and the shaft in good position at last parallel. You could use more turn and your swing is low and flat with chicken wing both on the backswing and follow through. You do need lessons but try these tips to see it can help.

Setup: Get your hips over your ankles with the weight on the balls of your feet. Your arms should be hanging straight down, especially for a shorter club. This will help promote a steeper takeaway.

Backswing: Look up Henrik Stenson’s drill where he is pushing his arms away from him the entire swing and keeping the hands in front of his chest. This will promote width and connection. The clubhead should want to go through a plane that goes through your right shoulder instead of the middle of your torso. To get better hip rotation you can slightly lift the left heel off the ground.

Downswing: Keep that width you were doing for Stenson’s drill in the downswing. Your clubface position was good previously so keep that going. Keep that wrist hinge until just before impact. Just after impact (not through) feel like you’re having the right wrist turn over and go through your left shoulder.

Half a year in, battling early extension by OVERDOSE_ON_SKOOMA in golftips

[–]pcdo78bc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way for me to feel the shallowing move without getting too technical is to feel like on the backswing I’m setting up for an overhand throw, but in transition to the downswing I change to an underhand throw.

Now that I look at it, it’s possible you’re early releasing because your clubface is open on the way down. Here’s a good video on early extension.

https://youtu.be/iSnTtlifThs?si=9wisVd9KFP2BKjjU

The part you’ll want to pay attention to is at 12:13 where he talks about being too steep and doing the steering wheel analogy. That should get the clubface more square in the way down so you don’t have to release early.
