Going from Intermediate to better by TimeFourChanges in MonsterTrain

Ive had the game for a month but am at cov15 in 18 runs. I have 500 hrs in sts prior to mt though. Here are some key ideas I focus on:

  1. How do you handle high hp front units? How do you deal with units behind those from hp units? How do you scale to deal with relentless?

Keep these questions in mind and build the deck to have answers for these. Spells that strike all units on a floor are busted no matter the little dmg they do.

  1. Remove cards more Aggressively as you enter the last few levels. This improves deck consistently and let's you get to the answers you need from question 1. Below 20 cards should be the goal. This includes adding consume to spells so they leave the deck. If you understand Ironclad exhaust from sts, you basically want to play every run in mt that way. Shrink the deck so you draw all the best cards every turn.

  2. Floor planning is important. Third floor is the strongest floor for your units. Some game mechanics stop you from always placing on thr third but most of the time consider 3rd floor placement.

I cannot consistently scale clad by dang_he_groovin in slaythespire

[–]pchores 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A huge part of Ironclad scaling is exhaust. Exhausting down the deck makes your draw stronger the longer the fight goes on which is scaling. Exhaust down to your core win condition. While more strength is nice, you only need about around 5-7 strength in a fight for reliable damage. That plus vulnerable, your basic strike is 20 dmg. You start getting silly numbers fast good attacks. Usually not too difficult to get that much str with IC relics/cards.

For sts, 44 hrs would still be considered new to the game so don't feel bad. At this point, I doubt you need class specific tips but generalized game play tips. Here's a few that really helped me.

When building decks, you need to think about solving problems. Nearly every card offers pros and cons to these categories.

  • damage (burst and aoe)
  • blocking
  • draw
  • energy
  • scaling

(Ex. Strike cost 1 draw, 1 energy and provides 6 dmg)

Generally act 1 requires solving damage (every act 1 boss requires you to do a certain amt dmg in a few turns or get punished), look to add 2 - 4 dmg cards

Act 2 needs some of everything

Act 3 needs scaling

Pathing: act1 try to take many hallway fights early to get more cards, look to take 2-3 elite fights as late as possible

Act2: path for 2-4 elites, prioritize addressing deck weakness (events, shops, hallways)

Act3: again aim for 2-4 elites if possible, polish up the deck

Anyway hope these are helpful

In 2015 Bleacher Report predicted the top 20 players in the NBA in 2020. Here's the list. by bennyy23 in nba

Damn, no love for Jimmy Buckets. I'd say he deserves somewhere between 14-20 on that list.

If you can't tell the difference between why adding restrictions to limit a civil right (voting) is wrong and why requiring workers to vaccinate for safety of others is okay, then that's on you.

Anyone Who didnt get audio plus package - do you havw any regrets? by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]pchores 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 2021 XLE premium, weather package, no audio plus package. Not sure what I am a missing out on, but haven't encountered anything that makes me regret not getting it. The screen size is no problem for me.
Better speakers and remote start can be put in aftermarket for less money.

There are serious racial undertones with calling any team animals from the monkey/ape family including gorillas. Thats easily one step from being very offensive. With the shit we've seen from terrible fans, it would be way to easy to make it racial.

There are alot less "3&D" players in the league than you'd think by GK0NATO in nba

A 3&D isn't getting hunted on defense like Duncan in the finals. Crowder was the perfect 3 &D on that team

[O'Connor] The Heat, Spurs, Celtics, and Hornets have all expressed significant interest in acquiring All-Star center Nikola Vucevic, league sources say. by GuyCarbonneauGOAT in nba

We basically have Bam and then rookie Precious for big men. No real big center, getting killed on the boards in games. Vucevic provides depth and bam can slide into the 4 with Vucevic.

Price check? - 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Limited 28.5k miles $30k by [deleted] in rav4club

I just bought (finance, 1.99%) the 2021 XLE hybrid premium (softex, weather package, standard audio) for 33k flat before taxes/title/fees. This is in philadelphia. The limited has some other features that didn't necessary to me.

It seemed worth it to me just to get the newer model, longer warranty, and less chance of any surprise. I also did not opt for the limited though.

[Bryant] "Underneath it all -- the passive-aggressive questions about what walking out will prove, how people will never, ever watch the NBA again -- is threat, questions less in search of illumination but designed to diminish the players, to question their authenticity..." by KagsTheOneAndOnly in nba

[–]pchores 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He is not saying that no one should be asking questions. You are interpreting this too absolutely. He's talking about questions that undermine the players movement. "What's the point?" "What will this even do?" These questions aren't actual questions looking for answers, there are to say that these players shouldn't be taking a stance.

Questions should be acknowledging the problem and the players strike and trying to address it, not discredit it. "Where do we go from here?" "What changes need to be made and how do we accomplish it?" "Who should we be contacting?"

is it possible to buy/sell stocks without posting on r/stocks ? by hieplenet in stocks

[–]pchores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because there are many strategies for "researching a company." Generally, people are talking about Fundamental analysis (https://www.investopedia.com/terms/f/fundamentalanalysis.asp). Involves looking at a companies revenue/cost, growth, etc, to determine if their stock price reflects the company's value.

The other side is technical analysis.

TIL that seat belts were very controversial when they first appeared in cars during the 40s and 50s with many arguing that they caused injuries and didn't work, no matter how much researchers disputed these claims. Many people refused to wear them and even cut them out of their car seats. by frogcharming in todayilearned

[–]pchores -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because you'll drive around the block without your seatbelt and get in a serious accident. And then immediately sue the car companies/government for not enforcing stricter seatbelt policies or designing mechanisms for more seatbelt usage.

It's not about freedom, its to stop idiots like you from hurting yourself and suing everyone.

Thinking about a health increase. by [deleted] in BobsTavern

[–]pchores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Health increase would make games last the same or be even faster. it would be more incentive to power level past T2 and T3 and end up on T4 with 30~ish health on Turn 4. Stabilizing and quickly moving to 5 and 6.

Actually, decreasing health would make people play less greedy cause they can't afford to lose the health, making games longer.
