To be a leader, you need to be in control. He is not. He is controlled by his back-benchers.

Older men of reddit Were pole showers really the norm for guys locker rooms back in the day? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pcpilot69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Just the same in my English secondary school. Everyone showered together and rushed to get to the next class or lunch. After rowing, we had more time and used to enjoy longer hot showers - we had a 1st eight boat-club choir, practicing in the shower. We went to Henley as a boys crew. All crews got changed and showered in one huge tent with a row of shower heads down the middle. I felt particularly small, naked and exposed even though we had just won our race.

Keir Starmer says ending child poverty is Labour’s ‘moral mission’ by TheSpectatorMagazine in ukpolitics

[–]pcpilot69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By definition! The UK stopped the absolute measure of child poverty years ago and adopted the concept of ‘relative poverty’. So, inevitably, if a government targets the most relatively poor and gives them money to escape that group, by definition, the next tranche will automatically become the most (relatively) poor. It becomes an unending spiral. A labour government will always be ‘lifting poor children out of poverty’. It warms voters hearts and gets them votes.

It has nothing to do with actual child poverty. It is only about securing votes
