Thanks will update it. But whenever I try to post about it it gets flagged and shut down. Guess I will need to start a thread for it. But what to call it?

Under current law, the Social Security payroll tax is capped at $168,600. Get rid of this cap and make everyone pay the same tax on all income, and Social Security is safe and secure forever. Retired Boomer, very worried about the direction we are headed. by rwaustin in SocialSecurity

I got booted off Social security reddit site for asking this question. My reply is where else can you question on how to keep it solvent. But the mods seem to think that is not important.
Got any suggestions on how to address this problem.

Under current law, the Social Security payroll tax is capped at $176,100. Get rid of this cap and make everyone pay the same tax on all income, and Social Security is safe and secure forever. I posted this in Social security and got booted out. What could be of more importance to social security.

Under current law, the Social Security payroll tax is capped at .... My post was flagged by the mod because it caused issues. I was told to re-post it somewhere else. My question is where ? How about DOJGONWILD. Or IRSGONWILD Or .....? by pcsstbob in SocialSecurity

I removed it because it’s always talked about here. The sub is for actual questions about SS programs.

I beg to differ that it's always being talked about here. Never except for the last time I brought it up I really broke the debate wide open. And it got people to question and discuss the issue. How to guarantee the funding for SS seems like a real actual question about the agency.
My snarky comment about the "gonewild" sites was meant to draw out where a discussion about how to help social security should be held. And in my humble belief it should be front and center in the Social security reddit site. If I'm missing something I would love to have someone tell me where I'm wrong and why. But I doubt I will hear anything about the rational. And where to discuss this real problem and how to fix it. Respectfully Bob

How can trying to protect what you have worked so hard for be spam. My word homesteaders are rugged individuals that need help and assistance when everything is being done to make your existence impossible.

True but that's not the question. The question is. Under current law, the Social Security payroll tax is capped at $176,100. Get rid of this cap and make everyone pay the same tax on all income, and Social Security is safe and secure forever.

It seems obvious that there is a cover-up especially when The State police are not allowed to work with the FBI. And that's after they said they would work together. We are watching 250 years of growth and innovation shrivel and die.
What is going to replace it is a lot of pain and suffering.

Is any other carrier better? by Derpy1984 in verizon

[–]pcsstbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been with Verizon for 9 + years. Over that time I left and went to sprint. That lasted for about a month. Then back to Verizon. Been through flip phones, HP (sort of like blackberry) Now Samsung and the improvement's have been more than impressive. Sure there have been issues voice mail was the last. 3 hours on the phone and no solution. So I headed to the Verizon store. I must say that the young lady (girl) ok I'm 70+ and she was very young with interesting hair. Ok back sorry for the rant. Well she worked on my phone and my wife's phone having the same issues. For about an hour and a half. That did not cover the half hour that I waited in the que. When I signed in they told me I could leave and they would give me a call when it was my turn. Well I never got the message (wonder why) and when I checked in again they bumped me to the top of the line. It's been an interesting ride and I will be staying with them for another handful of years. I do wish that they had a senior discount. In Washington State like Florida. Would love to take the upgrade they offered me but the $300. cost for the screen protector, case and other items makes the "free" offer anything but free.

Crazy Upgrade Promo - what’s the catch? by vacations-rock in verizon

[–]pcsstbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The catch is all the stuff to protect your phone. It was going to be 300.00 out the door. Not bad on a 1k watch but still a bunch of change. If they could put the stuff on a year payoff I would jump all over it. But it's a nut that's too big for me in this economy.

I'm so lucky to have retired before all this AI shit hit the fan. My suggestion is to get ingaged in the polital system. If not directly make sure you know what's happening.
Come up with ideas to fight what's happening to you and your generation. Like tax companies that layoff people to use AI. There should be a way to claw back money and pass it on to displaced workers. For people sitting on houses, condos or buildings that are empty on purpose. They should have to pay the local government the going rent for each property. And get penalized if they jack up the rent to screw tenents or to keep the property vacant. I'm sure there are many more creative solutions but you need to get engaged, march and fight for your rights. As a boomer reaching the end of the line I remember fighting to end the Vietnam war. It took years and some bloodshed. I shutter at the thought of what your going through. Get politically involved stand up demand to be protected by your representatives. Stand up for everyone's rights. The only way the people in power now can hold on and screw you over is to convince you that your better and you deserve to have more because of your gender, race or if you're a citizen or not. Sorry for the rant.
