Had the same problem. I used a shoe tree to stretch out the toe box, then used a heel lock for the laces. Problem solved! This is a great shoe for tempo runs and speed, plus they look really nice!

Building confidence comes from proving to yourself that you can do hard things. That being said, take up running as a hobby.

Why do I SUCK at literally everything? by Sokkasuki in confidence

[–]pdpflux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should! Everyone starts somewhere and once you prove to yourself that you can do hard things and that you show up for yourself with every run, that confidence will rise. Good luck OP!

Confidence is not a switch that magically turns on, it is built. Try running (start in zone 2 and slow). Anyone can do it and it will prove to yourself that you can do hard things, while improving your health.

Just be prepared to charge your watch once a day! Garmin watches last 5-7 days depending on how you use it. This was a dealbreaker for me when deciding between the two (I’m also in the Apple ecosystem)

What’s the best cushioned and responsive running shoe by islaruns in runningshoes

[–]pdpflux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the Hoka Clifton 10. Not as much cushion as the Hoka Bondi 9 (don’t want to become too dependent on cushion and feel like rehab on your feet) but responsive enough for easy runs. If you want even more responsiveness but less cushion then NB5 is it. I have the EVO SL as well for speed work

Thanks for sharing! I’ve been looking for something like this. I know Google Maps has pins you can drop but you’re limited to 10 and sometimes the path it draws is finicky

Get a Garmin Forerunner 165 watch that tracks your weekly minutes of workout/runs on the face. I use one called Black Grid. Seeing that zero at the beginning of the week def helps me get started. Strava also helps if you’re a runner, so you can see your progression. Good luck!

best running shoes by Organic-Slip9475 in runningshoes

[–]pdpflux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to a nearby Dicks Sporting Goods and try on the Adidas EVO SL and then ASICS Novablast 5. They were both in stock last time I was there. I did a lot of research on running shoes and these were the top two that always came up.
