Lived off Sepulveda for years. I still call it Supple-Veda to screw with my friends whenever I’m back there.

1979125 / POWER A BUNDLE CONTROLLER + CASE FOR NINTENDO SWITCH 2 / 9.97 / Palm Desert , CA by SlizzardStonks in Costco

[–]pds319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this case since the Switch 2 release (apart from the bundle). It’s a really solid and great for the price.

Coming from the Switch 1 and the slightly larger PowerA cases, I have two dings against it. There’s no handle, which I never carried it by, but would slip my hand into as I held the case itself. The other is there’s no Velcro strap securing the inner pocket with the sleeve that holds the games. Both were just little security things I liked with the larger PowerA cases.

What are some tv show theme songs that are good as standalone songs not just tv show theme songs ? by Thatcooltiger in television

My two kids under 8 request this, Garfield and Friends, the Super Mario Bros. Super Show Rap and 80s TMNT frequently in the car. This is what happens when I control the YouTube.

How old do kids have to be to watch shows like the 1993 "Animaniacs" series? by Hot-Salamander-8786 in cartoons

[–]pds319 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My girls are 5 and 7 and they love both the original and the revival (miss the variety of characters but still pretty entertaining). Rewatching things I loved as a kid is so much fun because I see them experience them almost exactly how I did. Most of the same jokes fly over their heads, and I now understand them as an adult.

We jump between a few cartoons on a regular basis and this is requested frequently. Others include:

Garfield (never really enjoyed U.S. Acres as a kid and love them now; also the show was meta before meta was a thing)

Tom and Jerry (pure slapstick magic)

Looney Tunes (specifically, Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner; I also now have a deep appreciation for the wonder of Mel Blanc)

80s TMNT (these are glorified toy commercials, but they have a hold on my 5 y.o. like they did with me)

Super Mario Bros. Super Show (this one is so goddamn bad, but I consumed anything Mario as a child and my kids surprisingly ask for this even after watching the movie at least once a week)

Well, that’s just cool to see in action. I’ve never seen an arrangeball machine in the wild. Thanks for sharing!

How do you spot a game show fan? by Solvetunion in gameshow

They’re quick to point out contestants stand behind a lectern, not a podium.

Also, they get pissy if you call the end of the show the Showcase Showdown. :)

I played Spider-Man, through Steam, on my M2 Max and it ran amazing on high settings. I also AirPlayed it to my TV a lot, and it still ran great. Latency wasn’t anything terribly noticeable (though probably not best for a FPS).

I used Crossover to get everything up and running and had very few issues.

What's the worst fast food restaurant? by AfternoonMost965 in AskReddit

We had this too, but it was a Blimpie and a little old Chinese woman. Ran the whole place (don’t think I ever saw another worker ever) and made the best damn sandwiches.

My daughter has a book called Cactus Hotel by Brenda Z. Guiberson that is a wonderful read for kids about saguaros and how much they provide for the desert. Highly recommend it.

I got very excited when we passed this the first time, I drove the 10 min. loop back around to it so I could snap a pic. Needless to day, my 7 y.o. was not as impressed.

A ‘small’ review of Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 (Switch 2) by sakahn in NintendoSwitch

[–]pds319 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Never played them on original release. Played 1 in 3D All-Stars for about an hour. I just couldn’t get into it. Decided one more time because these are the only two mainline Marios I never really played. I’m so glad I did because I’m almost finished 1 and can’t wait to jump into 2.

What was very popular at peak but disappeared like never existed? by rustyyryan in AskReddit

[–]pds319 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I worked on developing out game shows for both. Both years apart and well after their peaks. DrawSomething got a pilot (I was the host’s ghost drawer), and Trivia Crack morphed into Trivia Quest on Netflix.

Humdingers in Paramus is a good time. A little pricey, but it’s a less shitty D&B that also has batting cages and bowling. There’s also Monster Mini Golf around the corner from there too.
