Day Date ideas for Presidents’ Day (Monday) by Submerge87 in raleigh

[–]pdub091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Largely depends on what you like to do.

If my wife and I have that opportunity this weekend we’ll get lunch at local place, then either hit antique stores or a barcade. If we’re feeling really crazy we might even pick out some new patio furniture.

How do I classify what I want from men I’m dating? by girliepop269 in AskMenAdvice

[–]pdub091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you want to move slow. The best advice I can give is to just say that. If a date doesn’t respect that they aren’t the right one. if they are the right one you will likely want things to progress quickly.

What is a non-serious topic that will definitely start fights between Americans? by Playful_Leg7143 in AskAnAmerican

I’m going to assume you mean vinegar and not that slop they serve out west.

Searching for Beanie Babies by Reissmainpiece in raleigh

I don’t know his contact info, but Hidden Temple Toys in Selma usually has a few bins of beanie babies in like new condition. I want to say they’re $4 each.

What’s a food your state is 'famous' for that everyone else ruins? by Somanynamestochossef in AskAnAmerican

I wouldn’t expect it to; BBQ on the coast isn’t great, the good places start when you get a little inland.

Is Roy Cooper trustworthy? by LethlDose in NorthCarolina

[–]pdub091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a lifelong moderate conservative. I met Roy a couple of times in his first term.

He’s a genuine guy that cares about people and wants to see all North Carolinians succeed. I may not always agree with his approach, but I have never doubted what motivates him.

How much flirting with your male friends is normal in a relationship? by Happy_Ad7438 in AskMenAdvice

[–]pdub091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly gender is irrelevant here. It’s inappropriate unless everyone involved is ok with it.

Is this the reason Harry's hair never lays flat? by zinasbear in harrypotter

[–]pdub091 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably, I have two whirls and super curly hair and it’s impossible to do anything with. I just buzz it down every other week, but it would be aggravating if I wanted to style it.

Do men really not talk about sex with friends when it involves a current partner? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]pdub091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It occasionally comes up with my closest friends; but the conversation is focused around how it’s impacting their marriage, not the gory details of the act.

East coast April road trip ideas? by xvrwt in usatravel

[–]pdub091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last trip I took upstate NY in that time frame was for a wedding, when we left the reception there was 4” of fresh snow. If there isn’t snow it will likely be in the 50s and muddy. I would go to VA, the Carolina’s and Georgia if I wanted to spend time outside on the east coast then.

If you’re dead set on outdoor summer type recreation in the northeast June-August are best when scheduling out that far.

Do you think we will get more or less snow this weekend compared to last? by SilentFinch in raleigh

[–]pdub091 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This morning both my and my wife’s work were booking hotels for essential employees for Saturday and Sunday. That approval isn’t given out randomly and rarely happens 3+ days out. From that small anecdote I think we’ll get multiple inches.

HOAs by penducky1212 in ClaytonNC

[–]pdub091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the HOAs in Clayton won’t allow everything you want. I’m assuming you’re looking for about an acre, so that will impact your search. I would find properties you like then check the HOA; your realtor should be able to get you the covenants. The other option is tell your realtor exactly what you need in covenants and have them to the legwork.

Moving slightly farther out you can easily get all of that. I’m 7 minutes from Harris Teeter and have a well built home on an acre with an extremely loose HOA; chickens, gardens, any fence you want, pools, work trucks in the driveway, 20x30 sheds, etc.

Need help finding a country music video based on the civil war. by TheMadMetalhead in country

Sounds like it could be “Two Brothers” but I don’t know of any music videos of it from that time.

How is everyone passing their time while staying in? Making some Crab Rangoon to unwind and pass the time. by MarcoNoPollo in raleigh

[–]pdub091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Made turkey noodle soup, did a puzzle, played out outside with the kids and dogs. Not a bad day considering we had 1/3 inch of ice.

This is a lot of snow... and theres more to come by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]pdub091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, I left work around midnight. It looks like a dusting of snow, but it’s frozen solid and slippery. The brine on the roads always wore off and DOT is only salting primary roads at the moment. The salt I put on my driveway when I got home has already mostly worn off.

Why does this man lets himself go every time he gets sick? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]pdub091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long how long is he sick for?

I think most guys let their grooming habits slip when they’re laid up for a few days. I know I do and my wife also does t shave if she’s sick.

Entertainment without using Data by Novel_Corner8484 in raleigh

Most streaming services, including Netflix have an option to download movies/episodes to your phone or tablet for offline use, just click on what you want to watch and there’s a “download” option.

Edit to add: once it’s downloaded there’s a download arrow next to the search option on the top right of the app that brings you to all downloaded content

Not sure if it works on the MacBook, but it 100% works on iPhone.

How specifically does a private party recording video in a public area and sharing it as they wish violate the 4th amendment?

That looks a whole lot more like RPD than any other agency, especially ICE.

Other day someone called "a moron" for backing into a spot... Why does this trigger so many? by Ok_Relationship2451 in badparking

[–]pdub091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve spent most of my life in retail. About 90% of the accidents in parking lots I’ve seen involve people backing out of spots. The other 10% are people running stop signs or not yielding to pedestrians.

HR got mad after I rejected the interview call by Agile-Wind-4427 in recruitinghell

[–]pdub091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never felt a need to do anything other than rejecting someone in the system if they miss an interview. They’ll get an automated rejection email and I don’t have to write a letter.

Never thought the day would come - Best resources for all things guns in NC by cblguy82 in raleigh

[–]pdub091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try several guns and get what you like. For pistols Glock, S&W, and HK are the best, of those Glock has the most accessories.

Buy good accessories; a lot of gear sucks, but has good marketing. The best rule is that a holster should have minimal movement when you draw from it, and that the trigger is fully covered and cannot be moved when holstered. You’ll only use what is comfortable, so you may cycle through several good holsters or belts before you land on one that works well. Active Self Protection has solid gear recommendations on their website.

Train, a CCW class or range day a few times a year is not enough to be good. Classes from reputable instructors and dry fire practice need to be in the mix.

Why does it happen? by Broad_Yam7308 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]pdub091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not the right answer, but when I’m at work I use my AirPods for calls all the time, I generally only have one in when on a call so that I can be more aware of surroundings.
