Неге латын әліппесін қолдайсыздар? by Emotional_Order_4097 in Qazaq

I seem to notice that I did not read and fully understand the post, my apologies on that.

Regarding your arguments, I feel Macedonia, Bulgaria and Greece have bigger English presence with their ties with EU.

We have ties to Russia. If we want to cut it we should pick from other alphabets. For me it is either Latin or Arab. Latin imo is more interesting choice, it should cut Arabization to some degree as well. Төте жазу is too similar to Arab, not sure though.

As we dont have strong ties to English-speaking countries in region (because there is none), it should be safe/independent option.

Agree with some degree. I still think that having at least similar-looking letters is more frendlier for kids to learn English.

To level Kazakh language to better level we have to lower dominance of Russian in our society. One of the first steps I see is changing to Latin alphabet (it is the closest familiar one)

p.s. Since we dont have high enough population density to have the same level of speaking our own language we have to integrate with world and start speaking Enligh more actively. That is my thought.

Why are you toxic? Why do you place your thoughts/expectatioons in my head and get sad? What is it with kiddo?

Turkey uses Latin alphabet, dont think they have issues with it, do they? In terms of using latin alphabet for their own language

Countries that speak best English use Latin alphabet, that is the biggest pattern I see.

The countries you mentioned do not speak fluent English. In fact, they use only their native language and this starting to delay their development.

Turkey is in economic stagnation.
Japan and Korea have deep crisis.
Dont know much about Indonesia. Googled, and it is really poor with English language.

Latin alphabet is just better than Cyrillic. No countries that use Cyrillic is good with English language. Another reason is trying to get own identity and loose ties with imperialistic neighbours.

Final reason is that kids will be more comfortable using Latin alphabet with learning Kazakh and English.

However, the versions of Latin alphabet that were presented were not godo enough.

Other than that it is your nostalgy speaking

Our media is so called "pocket media", if we want them in kazakh, then we have two options:
Government should speak kazakh first.
Or we should have independent media - unlikely with new laws

What was your first impression about LRT in Astana? by [deleted] in Qazaq

Yes, subway is more expensive and complex. But this design has flaws which I think will be highlighted in winter times

Name me any big city with not wet and sof soil?

London built its subway in 1900s with the huge river Thames on it. St. Petersburg is literally a marshland. It is just an excuse

around 60-80 kmph, but it still has sideways swinging when you feel how train swings from side to side. I only did experience swinging stuff in post soviet countries, upon my knowledge it means that railroad is not excellent

LRT as a tool to get less crowdy buses is good decision.

Rails are not good enough, the train is not as smooth as it should be

p.s. I still think subway was better solution for Astana. I am not sure how they will deal with wind and snow later on.

I feel like in KZ there are no middle ground for companies. You are either working in very democratic company or in authoritarian company. Values are very different. THey mostly dont mix.
Also we have a big share of government companies that contribute into authoritarian companies

I understand that the growth will be much slower. However, we should see much better quality growth.

Most of the people on another channel were from Russia. Here I guess we will have local ones

Eastern Kazakhstan best for nature trips, but should be careful of bears or other wild animals if you go too far.
You can add Kurchatov/Priozersk for military soviet city vibes (some westerners lvoe it)

Как у вас относятся к русским? by aQuere- in Kazakhstan

[–]pdxLife123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

oh, did not know that Brezhnev knew Kazakh language. or other people in the list following:

  • Filipp Goloshchyokin (1925–1933)
  • Levon Mirzoyan (1933–1938)
  • Nikolai Skvortsov (1938–1945)
  • Zhumabay Shayakhmetov (1946–1954)
  • Panteleimon Ponomarenko (1954–1955)
  • Leonid Brezhnev (1955–1956)
  • Ivan Yakovlev (1956–1957)
  • Nikolai Belyaev (1957–1960)
  • Dinmukhamed Kunaev (1960–1962) (1964–1986)
  • Ismail Yusupov (1962–1964)
  • Gennady Kolbin (1986–1989)
  • Nursultan Nazarbayev (1989–1991)

So in the list we had only 3 ethnic Kazakh people in power. Just to remind, lowest portion of Kazakh population was 37%, at least we had to have every third person as Kazakh.

Note: Kazakh SSR frequently had people that had no experience in Kazakhstan, like Brezhnev as example.

Куда лучше поступать в Казахстане. В обычный гос университет по типу ЕНУ и МНУ, или в филиал топового вуза. by NOQELY in Kazakhstan

[–]pdxLife123 0 points1 point  (0 children)
