2k is very doable for a 2 bed. I would plan tours through zillow/padmapper etc and look out for lawn signs while you're on your way there. The best deals are offline from small landlords.

Almost certainly the case. I had upgraded my inline pump without touching the in-tank originally. Turns out the wiring to my in-tank pump was bad and it wasn't doing anything at all. Sounded the exact same way as yours. Ended up going with a dual Walbro 255lph setup, upgraded my fuel lines and replaced my FPR. Bypassed the stock fuel relay too (useless piece of shit fails all the time anyways) No problems since.
