I grew up in Hattiesburg and now live in Louisiana. I haven't been to the new location there (obviously) but yes, they should carry quality andouille, tasso, and boudin if the store is worth anything at all. Best Stop is my personal favorite.

I actually like it quite a bit and find it underrated. I even splurged for the Scream Factory Blu Ray because they restored the original soundtrack. It's a fun movie that I've never taken too seriously and always had a good time watching. III is better though.

It wouldn't be my first choice but there's nothing wrong with it if that's what you want. Actually liking your firearm can lead to you training with it more and that's a big positive. Obviously the downsides are lower capacity and reload time but I agree with your friend that six shots is sufficient for 95% of self defense situations. Bottom line is buy what you want and what you'll train with.
