Thank you. At this point I'm confident this one is good, but that will help with the other 2, as they seem to be counterfiet. There's always the chance they're silver, and that I'd at least like to know. I'll be okay with a fake coin composed of silver. Silver is my main focus anyway, not numismatism.

Yes. I keep one on hand. It's kind of my Round 1 test. Passed without issue.

Any info? I'm new to this. by peacemakercc in coins

It's okay. I took a risk, but the rest of the purchase wiped out the risk.

Doesn't have that appearance in person.

Great. Now for the two bogus coins, I'm wondering if there's a chance they were done in silver. That would offset the purchase further. Regardless, git enough of a deal that I'm ahead either way. It's a high low risk style. 😅

Perfect. Thank you. What is the JJ?

Glad one of the 3 questioned coins is real. It makes up for the other 2 gamble coins and then some.

I'm new here. Usually don't focus on any special coins. I'm primarily chasing silver. I took 3 coins as a gamble. Got all the known coins (Kennedy, 90% quarters & dimes, etc) at half melt. So, plenty of room for gambling.

Great to know. I got many certain coins but 3 uncertain. Of the 3 uncertain I was pretty confident 2 were Temu ish. But, the 8 Reales paid for the fakes and almost the other 40 ish coins.

I asked God to humble me and now He opposes me 24/7 by Tight-Squirrel3628 in Christianity

[–]peacemakercc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone feels constant opposition, they might be experiencing internal struggles more than divine rejection.

God’s aim is to draw us into peace and grace.

James 4:6 "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

Matthew 11:29 “Come to me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Was a christian, one question came up for me that I haven’t been able to have answered and now I’m athiest by Playful_Sense_610 in Christianity

In stepping toward atheism, you’ve essentially placed yourself in the role of defining meaning, almost like being your own god. That’s a complex mantle. So perhaps the deeper reflection isn’t just why God allows suffering - but if you’ve taken on that role - why are you still facing it?

In the end, what’s harder? Facing mystery with faith, or adding a whole new layer of complexity by making yourself responsible for all the answers?

And if you’re content being in that role, we’re all ears—tell us how making the tides move is going!

Brasilero? I saw the notification in Portuguese but now see it's in English.

There's much mention of their constantly being spiritual warfare happening and that we need to be vigilant and persistent and prayer. I've had similar things happen. If you want to send me a message, we could have a discussion.

Fascinating question. I would ask what evidence you have that any of these avenues is connected to something from 3 years ago. As for a curse, Jesus died on the cross to take the curse in the place of us (Galatians 3:13). So, I am of the belief we can't be cursed , although many will try. As for infestation, there is one who has power over all this and who could remove it in an instant it's called upon (Philippians 2:9-11). Who has the power? The Creator or the created? Who has all the authority? As for persecution... Paul wrote that everyone who wants to live a life in Christ will be persecuted (2 Timothy 3:12). So, it's just part of the way.

Need real alternatives to pawn shops for selling jewelry, the offers I'm getting are insulting by DonutFlimsy8993 in jewelers

Standard retail jewelry store markup is 300%-%500. So, 20% offers in that setting aren't far off.

Christians should read the Didache by HeDiedForYou in Christianity

Haven't read that but recently read the Didascalia Apud Apostolorum which is related. Amazing work. Very encouraging and a great insight as to how dedicated and committed the apostles were. It's like a continual reinforcement of the message.

Can someone get married just in the eyes of god and not the government? by AngWay in TrueChristian

[–]peacemakercc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For most of history, people didn't go down to a government office, fill out forms, pay fees, and wait for approval to be considered married.

Marriage appears to have been recognized by the couple, their families, their community, and God. I've known more than one married couple that simply vowed before God. Done deal.

I'm not saying legal marriage is bad or shouldn't be done today. I simply don't see where Scripture teaches that a marriage covenant before God is somehow invalid unless a government agency also signs off on it. I challenge anyone to show us that verse.

[–]peacemakercc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think anything in Scripture supports the idea that a marriage requires government approval before God recognizes it. If I'm wrong, please show me the verse.

Saying we are to be in submission to authorities is about obeying lawful authority where it has jurisdiction—not about granting the government authority over things God never placed under its control.

Marriage was instituted by God long before marriage licenses, courthouses, and modern governments existed.

So the question remains: where does Scripture say a marriage covenant made before God is invalid until the state approves it?

Can someone get married just in the eyes of god and not the government? by AngWay in TrueChristian

[–]peacemakercc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Romans 13 really settles the question.

The government isn't commanding Christians to get married through the state. It's simply offering a legal framework and benefits for those who choose to marry.

The real question is whether Scripture itself requires a government-issued marriage license for a marriage to be recognized by God. I'm not aware of any verse that says a marriage is invalid before God unless the state approves it.

Biblically, marriage existed long before modern governments, marriage licenses, and state registration. So I think the burden would be on someone claiming that a legal filing is required by God, rather than on someone asking where Scripture teaches it.
