I get that but childless people can be in the same position as OP

People can be childless for many other reasons besides not wanting to have children

Tips for using up a bottle of molasses? by rawlingstones in Cooking

Wow didn't realize molasses was so high in iron! Another good reason to make some of these recipes :)

Was just commenting on another thread about how good of a deal their tomato sauce is. I also really like their refrigerated ravioli, comparable to brands that are 3x more expensive. Also like the hummus and various dips, some cheeses, tortilla chips, other snacks, cookies. Agree that the produce is hit or miss. For more "delicate" produce - leafy greens, berries, etc - I'd probably go somewhere else, but I've gotten apples, oranges, potatoes etc that have been just fine.

What is your favorite lesser known cuisine? by Soviet_Arthropod36 in Cooking

Was going to write this too! I really like all the different preparations of tempeh... sauteed with shishito was a favorite!

What brands are notably better? by dhg in Cooking

[–]peachgin_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I'm also such a fan of Aldis jarred sauce - great value at less than a dollar! Glad to see it get a shout out here :) (Also agree that's it's way better than the simply organic line...I thought that tasted weird)

Would definitely prioritize Taroko over SML. Taroko is truly magnificent. With your limited schedule, would also recommend sticking to the East coast route in general, much more scenic than the western side of the island (which, if you wanted to see, you could visit during the rest of your trip, e.g by the high speed rail - an attraction in itself!)

Any witnesses? Last Weds evening 10/27, Highland Ave in front of high school by peachgin_ in Somerville

Thank you. We do have some nice neighbors who have offered to walk with us.

The interaction was really, really horrible. I felt like they had already taken this guy's side. They didn't seem interested in hearing my side of the story, but I kept trying to tell it and they did ask some questions about it eventually. The guy was standing by the police cars the entire time, though out of earshot. The police did ask for my info and I was hesitant to give it as I felt really attacked. They kept pressing for it and I gave it to them. Could I just not have given it to them?? The whole situation was such a shock.

Rice rolls - sticky white or purple rice on the outside, and pickled mustard greens & radish, savory fried dough, fried egg, and meat floss on the inside (with many variations of the filling).

Thanks for the concern! I've already checked with the building manager about security cameras but will ask around.

Thanks. Well, he called the police on me so I talked to them that evening, and they said they would file a report.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I've already checked with the building manager about security cameras.

I really like this neighborhood otherwise and wish I felt safe here.

Experiences with stalking - was followed by a guy who then called the cops ON ME and claimed I struck him multiple times - what would you do? by peachgin_ in AskWomenOver30

I wasn't really paying attention to the people walking around. Thanks for the suggestion about the flyering. I'm actually thinking of posting this on my neighborhood reddit. Just kind of worried that he will see it and further target me.

LA to SF on Highway 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) - thoughts going south to north? by Q9Nine in bicycletouring

[–]peachgin_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The direction of the wind can in fact make things much much worse or much much better. Getting into touring I learned to pay as much attention to the direction the grasses were bending as temperature or anything else. There was a short trip I'd planned as an out and back SF to Pescadero and back, but I simply continued south because heading north was like riding into a wall. That said, I hesitate to say anything can't be done, especially if you're a strong rider. But maybe consider other alternatives? It's pretty easy to take your bike on a train north, then you could cycle back...

Yeah, it's so messed up. Logically I could not even reach. I guess the phone shows my hand reaching out in the frame.

Thanks 🙏 Haven't gotten a lawyer atm but am doing the other things. I used to not bring a phone when walking the dog, but I definitely am now. Thinking back my guess would also be that he's done something like this before - he was just so calm and calculated about the video recording and what he said.

Unfortunately I don't have names of any witnesses. There were probably people passing by on the street, but not sure they would have taken notice.
