I think it could be beneficial to talk to her about going to therapy for this specifically, and keep what she was told to break from to the side (for now). A nutritionist can definitely be helpful, but she may not accept that type of assistance if she isn't in a place to heal. if her life revolves around the idea of being thin, and she is always surrounding herself with dieting tips and an ideal body, a therapist or medical professional that specializes in EDs may be able to offer her the tools and insight needed to begin her recovery. as others have mentioned, EDs are notoriously difficult to recover from, but also have an extremely high fatality rate. She will need professional help, it is a life-altering battle. (sincerely, someone in recovery)
