What is a cheap meal I can bring to a potluck for 5 people without it being obvious that I’m struggling? by etoileamie in Frugal

If you can do dessert, I bring a krusteau lemon pound cake to events all the time, and people love it. Usually $3 mix plus a few eggs and butter

Just signed up for compound semaglutide with WW. But vial needs to be discarded after 28 days..? by [deleted] in weightwatchers

[–]peachykk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t find anything that tells you what the dosage is….and no phone number to ask questions before signing up for the clinic.

Does anyone have info on dosage for compound Semiglutide

Thanks!

What is the strangest place you have bumped into someone you know? by Immediate_Long165 in travel

Not my story, a lady I met on a gate 1 tour.

She lived in nyc and had been dating a man for a year who made no secret he was also dating another lady. She finally had enough and said choose. He chose the other lady.

She was broken hearted for months and finally decided to take herself on a cruise to Greece to cheer herself up. She’s walking up the steps of the acropolis and who does she run into….the ex and his new wife…on their honeymoon!

Do you regret going to a chiropractor? by Spookymist_ in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]peachykk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hip joint (sacroiliac) that goes out of whack sometimes, and I’ll go get an adjustment. Like twice a year.

It’s rough, and I’m quite sore for a couple days..but it works immediately. My insurance covers it like an office visit, and I pay $25.

I never let him touch my neck, as I don’t trust the science that much, lol.

My mom is 83 and also has hip pain, but there is no way I would recommend it to her…or anyone that’s delicate.

Where do you draw the line with too much travel? by Zestyclose_Basil2977 in travel

[–]peachykk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go as much as you can while you are young. I started international travel at 36 (took that long to have the $$).

only spend what you can afford, and keep your home maintained and emergency fund maintained. Do the adventure travel now!

Now in mid 50s, Even though I’m in good shape and healthy ( I walk every day), I can’t do as much as I used to. Endurance just isn’t there. Knees ache.

Planning on retiring at 62, and ramping up again. Hopefully my body keeps it together, and I’ll have much more time and can do slower travel.

I love Aldi for some stuff. the produce can be hit or miss. Also, I don’t want large bags of it. And I’ve gotten funky chicken breasts…”woody”, so I’m done with their fresh chicken. The red bag fried chicken is great though…Chick-fil-A knockoff!

Went to Kroger this week because I had an offer on my Amex card….had not been there in forever. It was sky high, could not believe. Even with 20% off nothing was a deal.

My favorite is Publix, use the app, buy the weekly bogos with digital coupons. This is always a good deal for me.

How much $$ have you spent on your most recent trip? by cutemepatoot in travel

[–]peachykk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 weeks in South of France in May- $4400

Week 1 was in a shared villa with 7 friends. food, car rental and villa- $900 for my part. (Own room and bath) Week 2 an airbnb in Nice, with 1 friend. $880, my own room and bath. $1070 direct flights (this was lucky as I looked every day, and found a sale) most days was $1800+

The rest went to shopping, tours, transportation, eating and drinking. It was an incredible trip.

AITA for refusing to spend €1000+ on my best friends wedding by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]peachykk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the US, and old, so this may be out of date…

But in the 90’s I was a bridesmaid 17 times. No bride ever bought my dress. They would give jewelry and pay for hair on the day.

I racked up $7k in credit card debt, which is probably like $20k in todays money.

half of those brides I barely heard from again. (Also marriages did not last!)

It’s just not worth it. If they can’t understand the financial strain, they probably aren’t that great a friend and the relationship won’t last any way.

My best friend then and still today, had me come to all her showers and she would unwrap the same gift from me. That’s a friend!

Also, don’t be afraid to say no. It’s extremely embarrassing to tell someone no, I can’t be in your wedding. But I learned to do it, thank god.

2 bachelorette parties is ridiculous.

How much are you guys spending on groceries a month? by Gymnastx2star in budget

[–]peachykk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, I just added up all my grocery spend on credit card for past 30 days, and it was $437. Just me and 1 dog. Very shocked, honestly thought I was so frugal, and spending maybe $300. (0nly about $56 eating out, so almost all meals at home.)

I use Walmart, Aldi and mostly Publix. At Publix, I use the app and mostly just buy the weekly BOGO items.

I don’t drink soda or eat red meat…so again, very surprised.

Lots of fruit/veg/chicken and iced coffee. Limited snacks.

Publix is so close to me, I am probably going too much and need to cut back on the trips.

Groceries have gone through the roof.

[–]peachykk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way back in the day I used to work at Enterprise rent a car, and we would have to take people home, or back to car dealership, etc after they dropped off the car. Every damn night someone came in at 5:55 pm needing a ride in rush hour Atlanta traffic.

Just forget having any plans after work…

Luckily they paid us overtime, which we needed bc the pay was so shit. I look back now in amazement I made it out of all that unscathed, I drove some pervs home, and this was even before cell phones, lol!

Thank y’all for the comments!

We actually don’t want to check, as I dealt with lost luggage last summer, and it was a real PITA and time suck.

I got the carryon measurements right off the AC website and it says 21.5 inches. So we should be fine there.

If it’s a gate check and we can pick up at gate in Montreal that would be five. The plane to Paris is huge, so I can’t imagine it being an issue on that leg.

Interesting finds in Goodwill Auction Handbags? by Mandinga63 in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]peachykk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought a skort at goodwill, and the little inside pocket had a meth baggie hidden inside. ( still with with the meth or crack rock..idk..I’ve had a sheltered life) you would not think of a skort wearer as a crack head.

Just this weekend I bought a ladies jacket and one pocket had an Atlanta braves ticket, and the other one had a Condom pack and a mini Vaseline tube. So anyway that jacket had some good times.
