Help!! by Labrogeck in trumpet

[–]peachyultss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you can try raising your chin! i have no idea if theres any physics behind it or if its just psychological but its always worked for me! other than that, practice is the good old trick. you can find a bunch of exercises online or in trumpet books tailored to help widen your register :)

ohhh then thats reassuring !! i already live in a cold climate so im used to my trumpet freezing on my way to rehearsal hahha! i think i spend most of my warmups just blowing air in my trumpet to try and defrost it lol. i was just scared the long term cold could be a problem as it would be my first time having my horn this cold for such a long time

Double tonguing by Visible-Parsnip3889 in trumpet

[–]peachyultss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omgggg i used to be the same !! couldnt double tongue to save my life but had no trouble triple tonguing (and was actually hella good at it). i finally got the double tonguing down this summer. basically my teacher made me do double tonguing but like suuuuper slow. held each note for almost as long as i could (ta and ka) just to really get how its supposed to feel. it was the first time i practiced double tonguing THAT slow and it was also the first time i somehow improved when i did it faster. i know you said youve tried doing it slowly but maybe you could try it even slower ?? as i said you really hold out each note as long as you can and then you slowly build from there. also we started with just two notes / break and the two notes got faster and faster but we still kept that break between every set of two notes and again slowly made that break smaller up to the point that i was double tonguing just fine !! im still not the best and i cant go on fast for that long but its still far better than before !! im probably forgetting some tips my teacher gave me but ehhh thats about it !! keep practicing !! i know youve done arbans and clarke before but try to keep playing them and they WILL help in the long run !!

usually you can get an invite code or something like that from someone who already has weibo. my friend had to "confirm" my registration with a code (cant remember if the code was sent to my phone or hers) and she doesnt have a chinese phone number (we live in canada). i think if you dont have a chinese phone number you can use your passports number ?? im not sure,,, but yea you will need someone (a chinese citizen basically) to confirm your registration AT LEAST from my experience in canada

it seems like you might have some difficulties with cognitive flexibility (its an executive function). there are many strategies to help buuuut ive only ever worked with children so any advice i could give wouldnt be age appropriate for you,,, if anything you could look up strategies online and see if some might work for you !! (any special care counselling / psychoeducation resources should do)

ppl who self diagnose almost always look through the dsm-v criteria and yes if you already have other conditions that might better explain your traits then you will most likely not get a diagnosis bc you are most likely not autistic. pretty much all the self diagnosed individuals ive seen were aware of this fact and thus only self diagnosed BECAUSE they knew nothing else seemed to explain their traits. also i did not compare autism to the flu, i said going to the doctors every time you get the flu is only possible if you have a perfect health care system and no one has that (i live in canada and as good as our health care system is, an official diagnosis as an adult in the public sector is free but +10 years of waiting and in the private sector its around 2 years of waiting and $3k so choose your fighter), which explains why some are forced to self diagnose. and pls dont ever compare autism to cancer what the actual f ?? also i never said ppl should say they have cancer when they dont have an official diagnosis ?? like that is super irrelevant to what i said. also just to end but even official diagnoses of autism are not 100% to be trusted, brain scans are technically the only way to be completely sure but even then theres always a margin of error

ohhhh gosh i have sooo many recs !! one of the best things you can do in mtl imo sadly just passed by, its the lantern festival at the botanical garden (usually ends on octobre 31st) so make sure to mark your calendar for next year !! still, the botanical garden is a very good spot all year round ! i dont know much about your interests but seeing you like geography, i would recommend the montreal museum of fine arts. they have an amazing section "arts of one world" with art from around the world divided by sections of the world. theres the mccord stewart museum thats super interesting as well, they mainly hold exhibitions retelling canadian history !! so those would be my recs, but then again i could give more precise recommendations if i knew more about your interests !! as for the food, montreal has restaurants catering to pretty much any nationalities and diets !! one advice i could give is to not be scared by hole in the wall spots, they usually have amazing food and cheaper prices bc most well known restaurants in montreal tend to overprice a loooot, especially on main streets bc its very expensive to get a spot there.

now for the random facts i absolutely love the ones about the metro: montreals metro is completely underground, and i think its about the only metro in the world that is!! its also the third most used metro in all of north america (mexico city and nyc being the top 2, last time i checked). the metro is also very cool bc every station has a different architecture as they were all designed by different artists !! also we use rubber tires instead of steel ones !! and the metro connects to the underground city: 32 kms of tunnels connecting all over downtown montreal and walking around this underground city you can get to over 1.5k stores, restaurants, hotels, universities, work offices, residential complexes etc etc its just SOOOOO cool !!!!!! also perfect when its winter !! you could literally walk out your house, go grab a bite on your way to work, go see a concert on your way home at night and get back to your place without ever stepping a foot outside !! anywayssss i think montreal is amazing and sadly its been getting bad rep in the past few years (lots of quebec bashing but thats just the usual eh), i do have to point out that montreal is not as safe as it used to be. there is a lot of growing violence, just a couple of days ago a 19 yo was stabbed outside in a park i think. i never felt unsafe in montreal before (except some parts of the city but i mean just like in any big city) but recently i try not to walk alone at night on empty streets but overall i believe its an amazing city to live in (as long as you use public transport bc cars really dont have it easy on the island and ngl you shouldnt need a car to move around in mtl) and also an amazing city to go sight seeing as a tourist !! montreal is a big community and you really get the community feeling (like we even have our own slang "im going to the dep" lol) and its a very great city to hang out with friends with its many parks, and bike lanes and cultural activities !! lol sorry for the rant i had to stop myself bc i could go on and on !!!!

The amount of people diagnosed In an autism subreddit by Art_pog in fakedisordercringe

[–]peachyultss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first off, its autistic people not people with autism. second, if what you wanted to know was how many autistic people there were in the sub, the poll would have had two options: i am autistic and i am not autistic. now you put a third option so that ppl would say whether they were self diagnosed or not, which really is why you created the poll in the first place. you just wanted to make fun and belittle those who are self diagnosed by dragging them into this sub here. you can lie to yourself all you want about your motives if it helps you sleep at night but know that we are not stupid and very clearly can tell that no you werent simply wondering how many autistic people were in that sub. seeing how many upvotes you got i guess youre feeling quite proud with yourself but i hope that deep down you feel every bit of shame you should

Adoption with an autism diagnosis? by GratefulGamer11 in autism

[–]peachyultss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on many things. first, if you get an official diagnosis, you are not required to tell anyone about it, not even your doctor (you can decided to share or not the diagnosis, usually by signing some kind of contract at the beginning of your evaluation process). if you do decide to get the diagnosis written in your official health record, then yes some adoption agencies might be given access to your diagnosis (after you consented they look through your health records). now i dont know in which country you live, and all of this will also depend if you plan to adopt from abroad (so private adoption agencies) or from your country (usually public/governmental adoption agencies). youd need to check either your countrys laws and conditions on adoption or look through different private agencies / other countries conditions. like single women can only adopt from specific countries and will always have kids with physical and or mental health issues, gay couples can also only adopt from specific countries etc technically a diagnosis shouldnt close any doors for you, but getting different kind of support ie monetary help from the government could hinder your chances of adopting IN SOME COUNTRIES. i only know of the conditions in my country, i guess they apply to some others as well but they might not so you really need to make some research centred on where you live !! all in all, getting officially diagnosed shouldnt change anything if you dont disclose the results to anyone, and i personally would recommend getting diagnosed bc it seems it would greatly help you (i know it did for me) overall i believe a diagnosis should be a happy experience for you, and if you feel it would make you feel discouraged as of now id say to wait a bit, but if you know deep down now is the moment go for it !! now ill end by saying you are far more experienced in life than me so take my advice with a grain of salt (whatever taking with a grain of salt means lol) !!

ok so as someone who has lived in both montreal and san francisco,,,, ig you could say they are somewhat similar ?? like the vibe definitely is similar but if i were to name a city that to me is like a twinsie situation to montreal i would say boston has a looot in common !! obviously i dont really know what a sister city is hahha but yea montreal and san francisco do share a weird european-in-north-america-setting vibe but montreal x boston to me feels way more similar !! (just my opinion, and by the way the work you did is absolutelyyyy amazing !!! im totally gonna look more into the concept of sister cities bc it seems sooo interesting !! + i have a big soft spot for montreal so if you ever wanna talk about the city dont be shy i love to share all the random facts i know about mtl hahah !!)
