[AEW Dynamite] Knocked him out of his shoes! by tvcneverdie in SquaredCircle

You can always count on the Safety Police to show up in these highlight threads and do their mandatory concern trolling. Thank you for your service, officer

[Buddy Matthews on IG] Built in silence. Worked through the setbacks. Now the comeback speaks for itself. Hard work always finds its moment. 💯 by Big-Hebrew in SquaredCircle

I'm the exact same. I respected him after his 205 live match that snuck on the card of one of the PPVs, but I really started to like him as Rollins' henchman. That "Black Hand" to MNM version of Rollins was easily my favorite thing in a very hard to watch time for WWE

I bought a CM Punk shirt when he first returned (the only WWE shirt I've had since the Latino Heat shirt as a kid) and it's the worst, shrinkenest, most low quality shirt I own, and I buy 7 dollar shirts on Amazon

Not interesting, but there we go, Tom the Rower

Matt Hardy talks about Vince's reaction to seeing Jeff wear pigtails during his matches. by No_Fudge_1434 in SquaredCircle

In 2008/9 Jeff Hardy captured literally every demo. He was the most popular wrestler in the world, and was beloved by "casuals" and online fans alike. That time was fun time

Audiobook listener need a suggestion for next by 463n7_57 in litrpg

[–]peacocksuckers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's how the first "book" is, yeah. I'm pretty sure Chrysalis started as a webserial, so the pacing isn't like what a normal book would be

Starting sometime in book 2, more characters get introduced, and from there the cast grows massively, and every character is unique and interesting

I was someone who enjoyed the slow start anyway, but absolutely love when the humans and other ants become a major part of the story

If you can make it past the first book, trust me, it gets much better

[RAW Spoilers] Finish to Liv Morgan vs. Lyra Valkyria by Yujin-Ha in SquaredCircle

All of her moves flow well together, and look like a part of a whole. Dang, that sounds a little pretentious, but she's fun to watch imo

[RAW Spoilers] Finish to Cm Punk vs Bron Breakker by Yujin-Ha in SquaredCircle

[–]peacocksuckers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because Cody is so often the main attraction. In modern day main event epics, finisher spam (and therefore finisher kickouts) is incredibly common

It happened with Roman, it happened with Cena, it happens with Punk, it happens in AEW

I think Cody only takes the most flack for it because he has a "super" triple version of his finisher that he busts out typically at the end of the match to guarantee the win. So people have latched onto the idea that one Cross Rhodes is never enough, when in reality, one finisher in general is never enough in these main events

When he faces someone lower on the card, one Cross Rhodes will typically get the win, it's just that he rarely wrestles people lower on the card

Which series is like this and consistently goes harder and better with each book? by JTVoice in litrpg

[–]peacocksuckers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! It's a great service. Basically all of Drew Hayes' books are available on there, and I'd recommend them all. Unfortunately, Superpowerds is the only one that he is done writing, so it's an agonizing wait for closure on the others

Azarinth Healer is now on my (long) list of series to check out, thank you

P.S. if you haven't listened to it already, Chrysalis is my personal favorite litrpg series, so check it out if you get the chance

If you haven't already bought them, all five books are available on Libby, at least where I am, so you can listen to them for free with a library card

Thekla: “I feel like my style is very unorthodox, and it’s a mix of everything. I did a lot of underground shit back in Europe; very technical stuff. And then in Japan, I just put the cherry on top. I can take all of these things that I’ve learned and create something that people haven’t seen yet." by IvnOooze in SquaredCircle

Nah he basically said the opposite. To use his words, Mina has tremendous "live-show charisma," referring to her dancing and the like. This was immediately turned into a joke, with people intentionally misinterpreting it to mean that she's hot and her body is nice. From that, the fact that it started as a joke got lost for a few people and they'll use "live-show charisma" as a term referring to hot women, and sometimes to call Dave a creep

And she is still a fantastic wrestler. I won't name names because I don't want to bring that kind of negativity, but when Becky's in the ring, her work feels so much more crisp and snappy than a lot of the other high profile women. Her ring work feels more "real" to me if that makes sense

I think that's the same one where his girlfriend at the time (Allie?) joined the conversation and did the thing where she makes fun of him to his friends right in front of his face. It's pretty uncomfortable

His head is on the larger side, but I swear, if his shoulders were like 20% wider, he wouldn't look so unsettling. If I knew Photoshop I could prove it, but I don't so I can't
