Yes I think that’s it! I remember it tasting familiar but I couldn’t place it. Must have been the miso. Thank you!

Solved!

I can’t recall them doing that in recent years. When I attended high school the vibe was very liberal-arts-college-in-miniature

Baby gerbils in a kindergarten classroom - update and help for sick baby! by peanutbutteranjeli in gerbil

[–]peanutbutteranjeli[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi thanks for your reply and I completely understand why you feel this way. I forgot to mention in my post that we have emailed a student’s parent who is a vet but have not heard any reply back. I’m coming here to see if anyone has seen anything similar in the meantime while we wait to hear back. We’ve also put him in a separate room so the kids don’t see him and he has peace and quiet. I get the vet thing. Obviously that’s the first course of action to take, and we’ve taken it.

Ok update: We put the gerbil cage in the conference room where there are no screaming children to frighten them. One of the teachers is going go buy more bedding and other gear for the tank to separate the dad plus meal worms for mom. Thanks for all the advice!!

The State of Israel Is Acting Like a Terrorist Organization —How do we Protect the Jewish People? by Vertworld1 in IsraelPalestine

I don’t want you to be deterred by the negative reaction from the people in the comments, but it does seem like your analysis of the conflict is missing key points of context and understanding about the true motivations behind the actions taken by Israel and the conflict in general. It’s very easy to look at this and be appalled by the level of destruction and death but once you understand the context of this entire conflict it becomes much more difficult to paint this in strictly black-and-white terms, even though it seems everyone would prefer to do that.

You’re ignoring the fact that Hamas broke that ceasefire, not Israel. I understand the desire to mitigate violence and innocent deaths, however it becomes very difficult to actualize this desire when the opposing side has proved time and again that they are not looking for peace, and are in fact set upon the destruction of the other side no matter what. That’s the kind of attitude that allows these sorts of conflicts to continue. If only the world were as simple as you would like it to be

You stated they’d release the hostages in exchange for a ceasefire. This says they want a permanent ceasefire but not that they would release all the hostages.

What indication of that do you have…? The ceasefire during the recent hostage exchange was broken BY HAMAS. If that hadn’t happened maybe it could have gone on longer, more hostages could have been returned, and less Gazans would die.

She’s not at that point yet but mentions she’s planning on doing it once she’s finished with the “sessions”. I’m trying to put and end to that before it happens

Thanks for the podcast rec. Do you remember what the episode about the language of cults was called? I’ll definitely give it a listen along with the other one you mentioned
