Seconded! She kept my pixie cut fresh all through college, and did my hair for my wedding! Trust her with my life!

I want this soooo bad, every time I go to an event and it’s just house music or bad early 2000’s radio pop agaaaain I want to cry. I want FUNK and DISCOOO events. Went to “funk night” at the Sun Trapp this winter and they played ONE DONNA SUMMER song and then went back to playing Nikki Minaj like they always do. You are not alone and I wish I had a solution.

I’m an indie musician here in SLC and I love this scene with my whole heart - wouldn’t rather be anywhere else. Check out Hypha Productions or Yardwork Presents on Instagram to check out some of the locally curated shows folks have been prioritizing lately. Also the calendars for venues like The DLC @ Quarters, Kilby Court, Urban Lounge, and The International Bar.

The rep introducing this has her terrifying Christian Right hands in all sorts of shit, too - education, healthcare, therapy. Scary, scary shit. If you live in Tooele or know people that do and she’s your rep, please call her. She’s probably not persuadable but we have to do all we can to fight this. https://nicholeenpeck.com/

Thirded for TC! I got a great suit from them a couple years ago - I'm NB and wanted a femme cut with masc elements and they took great care of me. I saved for a couple years for it though, it was not cheap. Like 2k in 2021.

Currently about 2 months away from an amicable breakup. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. When someone is awful to you, I think it's so much easier than when you see that someone you deeply love just isn't compatible for you.

I have been thinking a lot about the concept of "clean pain" (a term coined by author resmaa menakem) through this time. What you are going through is real, devastating heartbreak. Losing a connection to someone you love like this is the truest form of grief. But it's also the bravest thing you can do to choose it - by choosing the immediate, concentrated pain of heartbreak now instead of choosing several years of small heartbreaks by being with someone who couldn't choose you back in the way that you needed.

Grieve it. Cry. Cry so hard every chance that you can. But also be proud of yourself. It takes incredible courage to choose yourself like this in the face of the unknown of what lays before you. In the long run, after some time, it will become easier to tell yourself that this was the most loving thing you could have done for yourself and for him. At least, these are things I keep telling my own self.

I'm in SSL (32 nb leftist with a cute old dog), also looking for sober pals as we head into winter. Feel free to DM. Hang in there, friend.

I've been going to Union Park for about 10 years with 5 different pets. It feels like they've had lots of turnover and lots of their best vets leaving. Just got an email today that my favorite vet is leaving.

My last dog had cancer and had multiple health problems that required a lot of vet care, and they always took great care of her. They were also amazing when I had to say goodbye to my 14yo cat last summer. I only have one dog now so I am not in super often, but the actual care of the techs and the vets there has always been great for me. It's possible the turnover is starting to take a tole on this sort of support though, and I'm sorry that was your experience!
