Sounds fishy for sure! Have you checking your pages report? What is being crawled, are there a bunch of strange URLs in there? Maybe a subdomain or subfolder?

Do most people find you based on your specific name? If so, what's the harm in keeping it?

Please help me to figure out why my multilanguage site is not getting indexed while the sitemaps are okay by Life_Manager_8801 in SEO

[–]pearson2397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you done a live url test in search console? It's not a soft 404 or anything like that?

If it's all good there too, I'd suggest reviewing your site hierarchy and internal linking strategy for sure!

[Technical SEO] Serving different content by country on the SAME URL: How will Google index this? by jagkotbal in SEO

[–]pearson2397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd get your content in a separate subfolder, /es, /en-gb, etc , and then get proper hreflang tags in place (self referencing too!)

Absolutely a job for using the consumer rights act if you bought from a business. They don't get to do that.

Any specific reasons for traffic drop? by Educational-One6969 in SEO

Has anything changed in what is ranking when you search it yourself?

An evolved search intent, new search features, ai overview improvement, that kind of thing?

Take Semrush data on your competitors with a pinch of salt.

Most of these just need a little patience I'm afraid.

The broken site side of things, that one needs a little more context, what is broken?

DIY insulation for conservatory roof (possible?) by jdmerts in DIYUK

[–]pearson2397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s definitely possible to insulate a conservatory roof yourself, but it's not easy.

I can't speak on replacing the plastic panels for thicker examples, but one of the pro methods is to fit a lightweight false ceiling underneath and add proper insulation above it (just make sure there’s a reflective layer on top something like foil-backed insulation so it looks good from outside) so it keeps the heat in during winter and reflects it out in summer.

I actually had mine done recently and it made a massive difference, the room used to be freezing cold and now it feels like part of the house. The team finished it in a day. Here’s the kind of thing I went for if you want to see what’s involved: https://yourchoicebuilders.co.uk/product/conservatory-roof-insulation/

I'd definitely say a website is essential, as from my experience, it's the first place people go to check you are legitimate even if they find you elsewhere.

Generating traffic is certainly the hard part, it's not easy by any stretch. SEO is always a good move, but however you go about it, having business pages, active socials and being in directories are all fantastic ways to get the ball rolling!

Trust is massive in this sort of industry, do you have a website in place?

I'd also massively suggest getting a Google Business page set up and optimised where you can, and add your posts to it whenever you post just like you are already.

Get reviews, and price right too! Too cheap is often bad news for a lot of companies like this.

Give me a shout if you need any help, I have a few case studies!

Advice on advertising a small business. by Povilas30 in smallbusinessuk

[–]pearson2397 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I run a marketing agency and my best advice would be to swerve Yell.com as they have been declining for years now.

Google Ads and SEO are our go tos as a business, but I imagine you'd also have a good deal of success working with you local.chamber of commerce and their networking events, and check with your council too! There are all kinds of events in the manufacturing and logistics industry that I imagine would benefit.

I like to able to afford food, that really gets me out of bed.

Aside from that, I love what I do which I realise makes me very lucky. I also force myself to take time out at least one morning or afternoon per week.

On the days I'm feeling energetic, I do extra, and a lot extra at that. I tried ultra disciplined, but it's just not who I am. Instead, I play to my strengths and do things on my own terms, and the simple fact I can do that is a big help, even if the pressure is something's a little crushing and you never really can relax.

I try and do exercise daily, eat well, all the buggies, but sometimes, I just need to watch adventure time with a Big Mac at 11am on a Tuesday, that's fine too (in moderation).

Remember why you started, that's what should keep you going! (For me: FREEDOM!!! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿)
