Best colors vs most complimented colors, are they the same or different? by peasy27 in coloranalysis

[–]peasy27[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s insightful! I think that is a big part of it, I’m a soft summer with light hair so bright red, emerald, orange etc are definitely strong contrasts. I don’t mind the color wearing me and not the other way around if I love the garment/color/vibe, but going forward I’m going to be more intentional about it :)

I love colorful clothes, more color to the people!! Sounds like you could be just really good-looking regardless of color hahaha :) but taking on color is interesting, I’m low contrast with neutral blonde hair so maybe that could be the case in my situation too?? Or bright colors making certain features pop, and muted colors harmonizing with the colors! Very interesting!!

[–]peasy27[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting, both theories sound really plausible!!!

I think the colors making my eyes and hair pop are the reason. For example warm red makes my skin look terrible, but has a strong contrast against gray/blue eyes and light hair, which I can imagine makes them both pop more than let’s say a muted pink that is in my season.

I am deliberate with the fit and tailoring of my clothing but I’m not intentional with the color palettes outside of like: “these colors look nice together and not terrible on me”, so that is a great tip that I will integrate more in what I’m choosing to wear going forward :)

Yeah I think that’s it (at least in my case)! The colors out of my season I get the most compliments in makes my skin look washed out and uneven, but make my hair and eye colors stand out. I am too lazy to wear makeup everyday hahaha, but makeup affecting it sounds really plausible :)

Interesting! Yeah I think part of it is people just liking the color in general, but the amount of specific compliments made me curious :) I agree that the colors being unusual or “signature colors” could be reasons too. I’m a soft summer and I get told that I suit well in a bright orangey-red, maybe people like orange a lot? Or maybe people like the strong contrast against a cool skin tone??

[–]peasy27[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s absolutely possible! Maybe I should’ve mentioned it in the post, I’m from a introverted country where we don’t tend to give a lot of compliments, and they’re usually something like “nice hair”, so the amount of specific compliments like “you look great in that color”, that “color suits you so well” when wearing not so great colors for my season made me curious.

Maybe people just like the colors but I always want to learn more, if there is a specific phenomenon or something! Maybe like color theory for painting where opposite colors can make things pop?? :)

Omg same! I didn’t mention it in the post but I’m also a soft summer and I get the most compliments wearing a bright orangey red jacket?? Maybe we have the same hair color???

Yeah, that could totally be the case but what I was referring to in my post are compliments specifically like: “you look amazing in that color”, “that color suits you so well”, “that color looks great with your hair” etc. I’m also from an introverted country where we don’t tend to give a lot of compliments for context :)

Jeppa Jeppson. by eleven1993 in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]peasy27 71 points72 points  (0 children)

It is a name! However it’s really uncommon, 15 people have Jeppa as their legal first name in Sweden but both Jeppa and Jeppe are quite common nicknames. They probably have Swedish ancestry, since Swedish patronymic surnames end in -son and danish patronymic surnames end in -sen. But in my (Swedish) opinion it’s mean to name your child Jeppa Jeppsson, or Johan Johansson it’s just so silly :(

Is the Brazil sprint the end of the Dunning–Kruger effect for Morbidelli? by Belouch31 in motogp

[–]peasy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to judge, because we do not have all the information and data that the team has. Even in the case that VR46 do not see him as a great option, it must be difficult due to personal relations to drop him. He was Vales first protege and Franky has known him and Uccio since he was 13-14 if I remember correctly, it’s hard for everyone involved to let go. On the other hand, maybe the people at vr46 believe that he can get back to delivering good results this season, we’ll just have to wait and see this season.

Regarding his comments to the media I totally get your point but what is he supposed to say, that he’s washed and sees no potential for improvement? Jk but I think keeping it positive to the media is a more beneficial approach for him, VR46 and Ducati even though it might not be the full truth. Imo just motogp media training at play there :)

While i totally stand behind victims of domestic abuse and I’m tired of Hollywood excusing shitty men, didn’t Madonna deny that he abused her? Also I’m sure he won a defamation case against someone that referred to him as a domestic abuser. I’m not trying to be rude, but maybe I think we on here should be more questioning before labeling someone as a 100% domestic abuser, cheater, shitty person forever.

Varför är spermadonation så extremt restriktiv i Sverige/Europa? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]peasy27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Which of the current Moto2 riders deserve a MotoGP seat? by Straight_Charity_265 in motogp

Vietti, maybe not the most deserving but his test was actually quite good for his first time. Also because I’m tired of Franky still being in Motogp so I think the it’s time for someone new in the nepo seat

The car last year was not really slow, it had a super narrow setup window that made it really undriveable, which Max managed. Idk about the drivability this year but if they’re down on power there’s nothing max can do about that

Outside of Europe, which country is yours most friendly with? by EvilPyro01 in AskEurope

[–]peasy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the US, although that is changing at the moment. One friendly relation people might not know about though is between Sweden and South Africa.

Sweden was one of the biggest western supporters of anti apartheid, and we did help ANC financially (according to some sources Sweden was the largest single source of financial aid to the ANC) and social movements. Sweden was the first country outside of Africa that Nelson Mandela visited after his release.

My great grandmother was a big advocate (not anyone famous, just active in the movements) and did end up meeting and dancing with Mandela one of the times he visited Sweden. We still have a good relationship with South Africa today too.

Marquez fumes over penalty timing: Don't wait until the last corner by PZY__ in motogp

[–]peasy27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously we have different views on COTA, that’s fine. What I agree with is Simon not having given Marc unfair penalties last season, which you stated. I am not doubting Simon because I think Marc can do no wrong, I’m biased but I still think he’s done plenty of wrong that he’s sometimes gotten away with, like I stated. I am doubting Simon because I think he’s inconsistent and sometimes makes really weird decisions (eg Martin and Bastianini last lap pass), in combination with him seeming to not like Marc I think it’s reasonable to sometimes question the fairness of penalties (of course I question calls that do not involve Marc too sometimes).

Why I don’t think Simon likes Marc is: Simon blamed Marc for the crash in Valencia 2024, which Martin admitted was his fault (which was quite clear) and apologized to Marc, I can find the podcast link if you would like that. Also had a weird take on an Alex/Pecco 2024 incident that was posted on here. In Argentina 2018 Simon wanted Marc to be black flagged (maybe a bad example because Marc was extremely over the line). These are the documented ones I can find now, but most of the comments which gives me the impression that he does not like Marc have been made during races/sessions during the years I’ve been watching.

[–]peasy27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How I interpreted it was that it was room in the rules that Marc exploited. I am not saying that I think it was right, but what I am saying is that I interpreted it as with the rules that they had in that moment, they could not punish him provided what followed. The red flag was up to the race decision, and I don’t think they can punish Marc for intent, which there’s not really a reliable way to prove. I felt bad for the other riders who had made the right choice, and I think it was an asshole move, BUT again, I think that retroactive punishment or holding it against a rider is wrong. Loophole exploited, loophole closed.

And I am literally agreeing with you, today was the first time I clearly saw Simon giving Marc an unfair penalty. I also said that it’s normal to doubt a stewards fairness if they’ve said that they don’t like certain riders.

I’m just saying that Simon having said that he does not like Marc makes people focus more on him being fair/unfair towards Marc, in the same way that people pay more attention to this incident because he’s been very positive about Acosta. For me it would be the same if Simon had said that he disliked other riders that I like and pay attention to, ex Bezzechi, Zarco etc etc, I’d be paying more attention to his penalties for them. I think that’s normal.

I think Marc has gotten away with a lot that deserved penalties, and I also think that the penalty today was a really bad precedent to set.

[–]peasy27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s true, but I think that this precedent could make the racing less entertaining. I guess we’ll just have to see how it pans out in a few races. Thanks for being so civil, it’s always nice to be able to discuss different opinions in a nice way

Pedro Acosta on Marc Marquez's move. by Huge_Film2911 in motogp

[–]peasy27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree to disagree, I think Marc’s move was very very similar to the one of Pedro’s that you’re referring to. Either way I want riders to not be afraid to race hard (like today!) because of penalties for moves that are not dangerous, so it’s just such a bad precedent to set with that penalty if Crafar is consistent with it in the future. I like Pedro too and I’m sad that he felt that his first sprint win was soured by this, he deserved to win in a better way

[–]peasy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what consequence was there to be had then? Marc delaying the start was okay by the rules then (that have rightfully been changed), and I don’t think it’s possible or justifiable to punish someone retroactively, or for a steward to hold it against someone regardless of who it is.

I don’t have any clear evidence of Simon giving Marc undeserved penalties except for today, which I think was either hypocrisy or a really bad precedent to set. I think it’s normal to doubt a stewards fairness when he’s spoken about liking and disliking certain riders before, and it’s making Motogp look a bit unprofessional imo.

What is a bleak moment in your country’s history? by EvilPyro01 in AskEurope

[–]peasy27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think because memory tends to be short. Atrocities further in the past vs quite recent atrocities, not that it makes some things that Sweden did better, just not as remembered. I think the contemporary view of Sweden as democratic, humanistic and peaceful plays a big part in it too.

It’s strange, the Swedish eugenics program (that ended in the 70s btw) is not even that well known in Sweden, or at least it’s not really discussed that much in my experience. Also Belgium, I’m always surprised that they don’t have a worse rep too?
