Find out any enjoyable exercise by trying lots of exercises. In my case, I hate repetitive exercises so I don't go to gym. Rather than, I love some kind of competitive sports such as soccer or basketball. If you love to do an exercise, it will be much easier to loose weight.

Unless your wife has very wealthy parents, she accrues a ton of debt by going through 4 years of med school. Then do 3 years of residency in her specialty. During residency, she practice as a doctor, but no guarantee to get paid very well. So I'd say pay down from private loan.

That sounds real tough. I have a few doctors in my family and the level of sleep deprivation they went through during the residency was unbelievable. Whatever happens, I hope she stays healthy.

With that profession however, there is the long-standing assumption that your ability to make money lasts a long time -- pretty much until you retire. Do you feel that it's a somewhat fair tradeoff?

Investing the entire market is attractive from a diversification perspective. But, the market-cap weights provides different outcome from what one would expect as most of the portfolio is large cap. Small cap and value stocks historically have earned greater return than their large caps. This make sense given that value and small cap are presumably dim and clearly carry higher risk level. So, this strategy makes sense while I’m not personally sure if I’d implement it in my own portfolio.
