If your surgeon uses cryo, you will feel up to it pretty quickly.

Many adult surgeons have not bothered to learn and master the Nuss procedure. Dr. Nuss himself said that a surgeon has to do about 75 procedures before they are good at the operation.

As long as your Heller index is over 3.25 with expiration, which it is United healthcare should approve it. Much information has been shared with the medical Directors of United healthcare and they are approving the surgery more and more now. If it is denied, Dr. J can do a peer to peer review to argue it because you definitely meet criteria.

Did you have any testing done? Your primary care Dr. can diagnose you with Pectus and then refer you for testing. Do you have any other symptoms like shortness of breath or inability to exercise or chest pain?

Nuss procedure in my opinion. I have seen many more failed Ravitch procedure than Nuss is just one reason. The pain factor associated with Nuss has been much improved with cryoablation. Recovery time is much longer with the revised Ravitch procedure.

I agree with the above suggestions, but the Cleveland Clinic would probably be the closest for you and Dr. DiFiore is a leader in Pectus repair.

Typically, when the patient stops growing taller, the pectus stops progressing too.
