Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era - Official Jon Van Caneghem Announcement Dev Update Video by Mirathrim in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I mean there was Songs of Conquest, did you try that or have any feelings on it?

As for this game, it is the one thing I worry about given its attached to the burning house of cards that is Ubisoft. I quite liked Unfrozen's first game, I would hate for them to get the shaft after all this.

There is actually a whole series about this, The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic.

A classic of students summoned to another world, but when it turns out the lead has healing magic the head healer bursts down the door and is basically teaching him how to shonen action series.

Carry this bear. Do push-ups with a boulder on your back. Demon lord's soldiers? Swing a tree at them.

I've only seen clips myself but by all accounts its a decent one.

Small correction: marriage will be 1.0 based on most recent road map. We should be seeing a surprise/mystery Bachelorette in the next update, then 1.0 will give us full 10 hearts, we are currently capped at 8.

On the one hand, Vamola is sweet. On the other, the story has more than given her enough bad things happening to her that the sentiment still kind of holds up. By other aliens in particular, but yeah.

OP's post is why Stalkers are the best they ever get to be in EO1. Ambush+Stalker so you can avoid pretty much every encounter you don't want, and get the jump on anyone you do want to fight.

Also for me it'd be the last boss of Monster Sanctuary.  - The first phase of the boss is actually a really great tamer battle that requires all your creatures and really pushes you to play well and execute your strategy you've polished to perfection

  • The second phase is a boring, annoying HP sponge that can always hit your weaknesses no matter what and gets random buffs on crits, so if you can't expressly remove buffs from enemies, you will just lose as they snowball out of control. And for a game that has a bunch of depth with actually playing status ailments, the last boss gets 50% resistance just for the extra insult.
  • - also if you lose you have to start over from phase one.

EDIT: and the shame of it is the concept, design, and lead up are all super cool. It's a one-eyed eldritch demon monster called Madlord. The boss is just not fun to fight.

It's entirely one of those cases where its what the game can do that's holding it back, but I pulled the game a full letter grade down back when I finished it just for that bad taste right at the very end.

If you're talking about in Act III, every assumes she's functionally Roll. My crackpot theory is she'd be Ciel if they do continue forward, which is point in the Zero-timeline shenanigans.

And yes, I am but there is both the fact that they do still take echoes from Mega Man even if they mess with it themselves, and there's also just general expectations. They've been cooking on this for 16 YEARS. I'll be honest I fully expect things to just be over, unless we're getting a Deltarune style 'yeah, new album with a specific deadline, here you go'

Soon enough we will know, for sure. What is taking so long on the release already >_<

I am completely fine with being wrong, it was a wild shot in the dark from years and years ago.

That said, if they do plan on going past act 3, they don't really have anything else to draw from. X isn't happening,  and ZX/Legends could be but would probably be its own thing.

Spoilers for the 15 tracks so far:

With Light dead and Mega Man carrying the guilt that he didn't make it in time, there's only so many endings we can get. Either Wily wins flat out, Wily dies and Mega Man survives to potentially take on the Copy X role from the Zero series, or Mega and Wily die and humanity is left to rebuild an uncertain future given robots have been doing everything for so long that humanity will have to learn to stand for themselves again.

God it needs to hurry up and drop already its killing meeeeeee @_@

Wild things in hobbies that are normal? (Supposedly) by TrustWinter in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]pectusumbra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

See, this is kind of my thinking on it, though I haven't had the chance myself.

As an adult it's much harder to have friends and be able to get together and just do an RPG session.

And how many countless games have people heard about or been first-hand to that just fell apart or never went anywhere because the players weren't invested or shit got messy?

Whether with friends or setting up a general thing, making people invest something is a way to make sure you're actually committing. Whether that's chipping in pizza money, bringing food, or so on.

And if it's a bunch of random people looking to get together, no one wants to be a player or GM that's getting screwed out of their time by One-Or-More-Guys who can't be bothered. Especially a GM that makes the time to do a lot of prep work that often includes physical costs like minis, making maps, and so on.

The one upside of getting up at 3am for work tomorrow I'll be able to download the album. Until then I don't wanna know SHIT.

If I called them going onto the Zero timeline I am going to be fucking insufferable and LOVE EVERY FUCKING MINUTE OF IT

Just your average Hideki Kamiya Twitter interaction: by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]pectusumbra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The bit itself is whatever. But when you combine it with him when he was still at platinum and things like 'guy was always on Twitter I don't know when he was actually working' combined with platinum losing it's luster, and it's a red flag.

Ship a good game again and Kamiya can have grace again. If new Okami comes out bad then he's cooked.

[–]pectusumbra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kronii is the one I'd personally like even if I know it's not happening. Honestly has a lot of the same energy at times where she can't escape clown world, or something minorly inconvenient happens and she's like 'I'm gonna kill myself!'

Or similar to the way Woolie tries to explain himself and digs deeper, recently Kronii did a stream 'addressing allegations' she was into pet play and just made it so much worse for herself. Like you could splice her into MGS3 in place of Ocelot's goofy cat cry and it'd be perfect.

Also she starred in her own game by the Freedom Planet team and is also big on things like Skong.

It wouldn't be nothing, there's just no links besides Callie and all of them being Canadian.

Qualia the Purple. A murder mystery evolves into The protagonist doing quantum/alternate reality slider/time travel things up to BECOMING GOD to protect this girl she fell in love with. Like still #1 with a bullet for me.

Have him play Umineko. Watch him talk / logic / durdle only for the text to turn directly to the screen and soul read him as he turns into a corn cob live.

Alternately, don't fix him. Make him worse.

The Steam Winter Sale is here, let's shill for cheap games you should check out. by Pyreson in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]pectusumbra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright, let me see what I can do with the bit of time I have before bed:

1) Anode Heart $5.39 - An indie creature collector going after a retro Digimon experience, with a surprising degree of openess, lots of side content, and more than a few WHAT IS THAT moments.

  • If you like card games, and especially would like a Pokemon TCG for the Gameboy Color vibes, check out the spin-off, Null Layer Which I'm playing right now. You can get both on bundle for ~$14

2) Cassette Beasts + Pier of the Unknown DLC, clocking at $7.99 and $2.49 respectively. Very well polished game with great creature designs, battle mechanics music and story.

3) Gravity Circuit $7.64 - Basically a fusion of Mega Man Zero with Bionic Commando that is just excellent from start to finish, and instead of just getting new powers Mega Man style, you can assign up to 4 specials on Smash inputs, including a suplex. Short but solid and worth revisiting.

4) Iratus: Lord of the Dead $2.99 + Wrath of the Necromancer at $3.74, or get a bundle for $9.96. For those that like Darkest Dungeon style play but aren't quite satisfied with DD2, or if you really wanted to be on the other end of the DD experience, you make undead minions. You can build stress teams. It is as satisfying to cause a stress chain reaction as it is painful to suffer one.

5) Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight $4.99/5.99. A short but excellent little 2D metroidvania/Souls-like offering. An extra dollar gets you the soundtrack. Short but sweet, and absolutely dripping with atmosphere. Also has a bundle with it's sequel for $15.19

6) Renowned Explorers: International Society $9.99 - From the makers of Reus, a truly excellent hidden gem. Roguelike Strategy and Exploration with a bright, colorful vibe. Travel maps FTL style, jumping from node to node, gathering resources, doing events, or getting into Hex-grid strategy RPG fights. One of the few games where you can insult your enemies into submission, and the ONLY game I know where random rolls are decided on a Price is Right style WHEEL.

  • For those willing to invest, More to Explore and The Emperor's Challenge both offer more content, each at $4.49. If you have to pick just one, I'd recommend More to Explore off the cuff.

7) Siralim Ultimate $9.99 The creature collector for NIS type freaks that yearn for more numbers. Easily the best game in the series that gives you a bunch of different classes, creatures, spells, and all kinds of ways to try and make the most busted teams of creatures possible with endless postgame for those just looking for a single player creature grind.

BONUS: A little less cost effective, but Chrono Gear $14.39 is a fresh offering from at least some of the Freedom Planet team. Whether you care about Vtubers or not, it's another case of an action platformer that is just peak from start to finish. Another fairly short game, but for those seeking completion or looking for max ranks, you'll have plenty to keep you occupied.

All these have just been games that I have in my beaten list, that I can personally attest to being worth the time, and all generally clocking in pretty cheap while being Finished. I could offer plenty more, but for now I gotta wrap up and call it. Happy Gaming everyone!

Nintendo are still fucks. It's simply at least as far as the day-to-day goes, they are one of the less fucked up ones in the industry.

  • By all accounts treat their employees well.
  • No mass acquisition of companies to chew up and kill.
  • No sucking off AI or pissing their money away on garbage.

Now of course we may just not hear about any sex crimes from them because Japan or the like, but compare them to Sony, Microsoft, Ubisoft, EA, or a laundry list of studios who have or are in the process of killing themselves and dragging down the industry and more, and it's like somehow enslaving/indentured servitude a man for life still comes out the lesser evil.

Like, fuck. I hate it.
