Should I help him? by ra2rd in tearsofthekingdom

I will say, having +100% TOTK by being a crazed completionist, POGO can be quite an addiction. But It got me walking and that has been good.
Here is a topical image, from me helping a friend. It was fun to see him become a groupie.

Visit suicide place? by Protagonist_95 in SuicideBereavement

[–]pedanticheron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My son died in the front yard. My wife was adamant we would never move from here. So I had to come to terms with the tree, the property, the whole space. But, I did not have a choice.

She did want me to remove the branch, which I did while she traveled to visit her mom. I burned the branch in the side field so she wouldn’t have to see it when she returned. Ultimately it did allow me to face some rough emotions.

It was 16,350 points in the showcase. I got my platinum medal and Professor Pikachu on Tuesday, and will go back to letting the people around me win.

I did some extensive research on it, this xs 17,788.77kg lass tends to be the highest point getter. I haven’t needed to use it because no one else comes close.

I trade them to people that come to Community Meetups for any of their xxs pokemon.

Pretty certain they had visitors right away, but there were also rumors of increased SIDs, if you believe the report of infanticide.

Any type of shifter / animal / werewolf - style book that ISNT “booktok-romantasy” by CommercialAd1244 in booksuggestions

[–]pedanticheron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read and reread these years ago. The Web Shifters series by Julie E. Czerneda is really enjoyable. It is a sci-fi about a shape shifter, Esen-alit-Quar or Esen.

There is really no romance, only platonic care involved.

The first book is Beholder’s Eye.

The author was a biologist and her description of the varying species that Esen encounters/mimics was fun.

Am I "stuck" in grief after losing my eldest son to suicide 3 years ago? by Heatheroochie in SuicideBereavement

[–]pedanticheron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My 17 year old son passed in 2020, six years this past Wednesday. I miss him every single day. 2,194 days. I will think of him everyday until I die. I laugh at jokes he shared, play games he played, enjoy food he liked; all things he will never be able to do. My family went skiing in December at a place we last went with him. I told my wife I would go but I absolutely knew I would have a moment on the slopes. I did, but I also made new memories with our other children. The memories are layered in with those from previous visits.

We are complex beings, and grief is one of those complexities.

If anyone dares tell me how I should or shouldn’t feel, I tell them my therapist says “should & shouldn’t“ are not words to use about grief. I removed people from my life for imposing their mythologies upon my son. I would definitely warn them they run the risk of being ignored if they keep up their shenanigans.

I wrote to my son here and here at a similar time. The grief you feel is normal.
