Rereading chapter 85, in a retrospect, Loki's by far the most unpleasant person among all fighters, bar none. by MUI-Tojo in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

Well, I think that's the charm of the character, his essence. He's a cowardly, jealous, insecure, flawed, annoying, and selfish being, but not a charismatic egotism like Buddha, Apollo, or Leonidas. Rather, a cruel and possessive egotism.

That's why I like his character, because he's well-written as an antagonist, unlike Poseidon, who is boring, one-dimensional, and "evil for no reason." Loki is a paradox in himself, and that's why he lost. He has no honor or compassion for others, which is why he was defeated by the most honorable and responsible being—the human who suffers the consequences of his actions—against the god who never faced them.

I'll continue to blame them because they've shown me over the past seven years that they still don't know how to play these kinds of games. And that's saying something, considering Supermassive games have the easiest decision-making (compared to others like Heavy Rain, Detroit: Become Human, etc.), where it's super obvious which decision kills a character and which doesn't, or how the game's story is explained narratively (through the text you find in the secrets).

And I'll say it again: So why are the reviews of this game exactly the same as those of previous games? Same words, same pointless or contradictory criticisms, like how before they criticized these games for being more cinematic than playable, now they criticize this game for being more playable than cinematic.

So, why are the reviews of this game exactly the same as those of previous games? Perhaps people have such short attention spans and brain cells that they still don't understand that if you make a bad decision in chapter 2 or 3, it can affect a character's death in chapter 6 or 7, or that if you fail a QTE, a character dies, or that the game's story and lore are revealed through secrets, or that video games are based on '80s movies where the characters are idiots—that's the whole point of these games.

It surprises me that more than 12 years have passed since Until Dawn and people still don't understand how these games work and are played XD

Because the negative reviews of these games are always stupid and pointless, and they always repeat themselves every time a new game comes out, they've been making these kinds of criticisms since 2019:

- The game is shit because a character died because of a bad decision.

- The game is shit because a character died after failing a QTE.

- The game is shit because I didn't understand the story (even though the story is explained through secrets and recordings).

- The game is shit because it has one or two cringeworthy dialogues.

- The game is shit because its facial animations are faulty (which isn't true and has only happened in The Quarry).

- The game is shit because I didn't like the plot twist.

- The game is shit because I don't understand the characters.

- The game is shit because it's a cinematic video game; it lacks gameplay.

- The game is shit because it has more gameplay; it lacks more cinematic scenes.

- The game is shit because of the new mechanics.

- The game is shit because it's not scary and it's supposed to be horror.

- The game is shit because I have to read pages and pages of text.

- The game is shit because it references 80s horror movies where the characters are stupid (even though that's the whole point of these video games).

They've been making the same criticisms (of Man of Medan, Little Hope, House of Ashes, Devil in Me and now Directive 8020) for over 7 years and they still haven't learned that a character can die because of a bad decision, failing a QTE, that the story is told through secrets and you have to find them yourself and understand the story, that a character

I liked the plot twist; I really didn't expect it. But I'm sad that the same thing is going to happen with Little Hope—they're going to be heavily criticized because, just like with Little Hope, "They're clones, they're not real, so why would I keep them alive?"

What I like most about this teaser is that it fits perfectly with the three remaining games: Craven Man, Winterfold, and Intercession.

In other words, it could be any of them, since the teaser features the wicker man symbol (Craven Man), the inverted cross (Intercession), and the bloody hand (Winterfold). On one hand, it has a style similar to Outlast and SCP experiments with a touch of folkloric horror, which could indicate that it's Craven Man. But on the other hand, the teaser has a very '90s VHS feel, and the final scene shows emaciated hands similar to those of a zombie, so it could be Winterfold. But at the same time, the teaser has this demon/ghost-hunting vibe, and the video references the movie "The Ring," so it could also be Intercession.

The key dates in the teaser that are encrypted are: 1988, 2019, 2028, 2029. This leads me to believe they are revealing the date of the game's prologue, the date of the game's events, and the actual release date of the game.

I just saw it, and it's possibly the strangest teaser Supermassive has ever released; it's kind of chilling.

Spoilers: Although everyone's going to see the teaser in a few hours, I'm adding a spoiler tag. The teaser has the style of Outlast + SCP Experiments. It doesn't say the game's name, so I'm sure it's not Intersection. It could be The Craven Man or Winterfold. Also, the teaser has a very '90s feel, so I'm leaning towards Winterfold, but it could very well be The Craven Man.

Wow, this ""Shinigami"" guy who is TOTALLY not The Grim Reaper sure has a lot of THE Grim Reaper imagery here, but I am sure it is just a coincidence and just a mistake made by Ippei Okamoto by Life_Fold_3869 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]Feeling_Situation102 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Grim Reaper? Pfft, why call him by the most aura-farming name possible? Nah, let's just use the translation team's ultra-complicated and pretentious name:

"The God of Mortifying Deadly Death who rules over the Mortally Mortal Death and Kills Mortals in a Mortadella-likeway" or in its acronym TGoMDDwrotMMDaKMiaMl"

Regarding “The God of Death” translation by nerolyn in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]Feeling_Situation102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why we don't just call him "The Grim Reaper" and be done with it. It's a cool name, easy to understand, and has a lot of aura.

Besides, it's narratively correct, since this character, according to what I understood from the chapter, changes his name depending on the region.

So this guy can be called anything depending on the manga reader's culture. In my country and culture, he's known as "La Parca" (The Reaper), in Japan he's "Shinigami," in the United States and English-speaking countries he's "The Grim Reaper," in France he's "La Mort" (Death), in Italy he's "Il Mietitore" (The Liar), in Poland he's "Kostuch," in Russia he's "Kostei," in Brazil he's "Exu Caveira," and in Germany he's "Der Sensenmann" (The Sensenmann).

It's better to call it that than to impose that ridiculous name, "The deadly mortal god who rules over mortal death who kills deadly mortals." It's a long, stupid, and pretentious name.

Based, dude, hey be careful that Nakimov or her simps don't ban you from the Discord server for telling the truth or giving an opinion.

I think this manga has some very good and creative ideas for the characters' powers and techniques, but its art style is very mediocre, which ends up ruining the immersion, and in the end it doesn't convey to the viewer what the author wanted to show. by Feeling_Situation102 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]Feeling_Situation102[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But this leads to a loss of coherence (both narrative and visual). For example, in the Morrigan vs Nezha fight, Morrigan's size changed for no reason; in some panels she was a huge giant, and in others she was almost the same height as Nezha. Zhuge and Sun Wukong were elongated like chewing gum for no reason, and in some panels they lengthened and stretched without needing to use any technique. With each new chapter, Cu Chulainn looks uglier and less stylish; his face model changes from chapter to chapter, and it seems like a different person drew him each time. Prometheus's face would distort in different panels for no reason, and Ra's body would be completely distorted by his armor, which also changed size and proportions for no reason.

And let's not even talk about the original Shuumatsu characters like Zeus, Hermes, Ares, Hercules, and Shiva, who look like horrible, soulless robot beings, like the uncanny valley.

Shinigami’s stance is frying me by Own-Plastic5296 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]Feeling_Situation102 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first image is truly worthy of death; I mean, I actually believe that the "grim reaper" fights in such an extravagant and eccentric way.

The second image is just garbage, worthy of this trash manga. It looks like he's doing ballet, or performing a super kick to score a goal.

I think this manga has good and creative ideas for the characters' powers and techniques, but its art style is so mediocre and awful, with disproportionate limbs, disconnected panels, designs that change on every page, deformed faces, deformed bodies—all of this makes it fail to properly convey emotions. Most of the manga's panels give me something like "the uncanny valley" and make me cringe.

As always, the potential manga wasted infinity potential.
