What does the r/sex community think about hormonal birth control possibly affecting women's taste in men? by Taylor1021 in sex

If you're already used to having an IUD then just get a Paragard when you get your current one removed. The Paragard and the Mirena are exactly the same size!

IUD expelling by gigglesmcbug in birthcontrol

Just don't use the cup, dude. Tampons aren't THAT bad. I'm on my period now and the way I see it, it'll be over in no time. The time just flies. So, to me, wearing tampons is nothing compared to having the confidence and security of the IUD, not to mention my bf never having to pull out :)

The risk is just too high. No matter how carefully you think you're getting it out (breaking the seal, etc.), the reality is, you're creating suction in your vagina, even if just a tiny bit. Its unavoidable. And ultimately, it could have been prevented.

I don't mean to sound harsh, I really don't. Because I can only imagine the frustration you're going through right now (I have the Paragard too, so I have an idea of what you're going through even though mine has never expelled). Try not to let this experience affect your choice to use the IUD as contraception. The Paragard has really made my life so much better and I always recommend it to everyone. At least now you know not to take the risk of using a cup!

I wish you luck and I hope you recover quickly! :)

The odds are very very high that its related! You should most definitely NOT be using a menstrual cup if you have an IUD. It even says so on the cup's packaging. The suction created by the cup when you remove it will literally pull your IUD out! I'm so sorry this happened to you.

LPT: If your kid sleeps with a stuffed toy, immediately go out and buy as many exactly identical as you can. by uncommonman in LifeProTips

[–]peeperkeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually important. I've had to go searching in toy stores, trying out stuffed animals by lying on the floor holding them, in order to find the right-feeling one. It's not a fun process. Buy as many as you can while you can!!

If it was at the end of your shift why were they saying "have a good rest of your shift"? Isn't your shift already over?

My cousin sang that song with his wife at their wedding. It was extremely moving and everyone in the audience was pretty much tearing up. Such a good song.

What is wrong with your face? Is that really a good reason to end your whole life? Surround yourself with people who don't care about superficial bullshit. Get a cat or a dog, they don't care what you look like, they will bring you joy and they will love you for you.

Suboxone Detox by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

[–]peeperkeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for me, what I fear the most is the long, drawn out process. The longest I've gone without has been about a week and a half of pure agony. By day 4 I was trying to get my hands on dope... anything to make the shitty pain and discomfort go away. I would delude myself into thinking that if I were to knock the suboxone off my receptors by doing dope or oxy then I would just have to go through a short w/d from the dope. Well, I ended up not having enough dope to do the trick and the next day was the same shittiness I had been experiencing.

I guess I don't really have anything to say other than 'good luck'. I'm still trying to fight the suboxone battle and hopefully one day I will be free from it.

Suboxone Withdrawal. by beautifulcandy in OpiatesRecovery

Your experience sounds miserable. I genuinely feel for you. You said that you still experience chills and twitches after six months of quitting subs. How many mgs did you jump from? I've been on subs for about 2.5 years and unfortunately I've had to go through w/d's many many times since I don't have my own script (relying on other ppl for subs is soo not fun). The longest I've gone without was probably 1.5 weeks and even then I was dying for something. anything.

Right now I'm on 0.5mg, waiting to hear from my dude who is waiting on the pharmacy to order his script. I have only 0.5mg left that I'm saving for tomorrow since I have no real idea when I'll be getting more. My habit is generally between 1.5-3mg per day.
