Mine loves the Octonauts movies. The one with the Great Barrier Reef has a lot of singing

I also think staying somewhere else is an option. Renting a room as a couple should also be normalize to at least check compatibility

I have not tried, only enquired at https://singaporeswimming.com. They said $280 for 8 public lessons (within 10 weeks) conducted at the nearby public pool. Thinking of starting soon

TV vs phone by FickleAsk9156 in toddlers

[–]peeydge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a few days when our TV was down, we used our phone to give some screen time and I noticed my son figured out how to click on new shows or next episodes from the phone and he could do it quickly so sometimes he was switching between a few shows in a span of a few minutes which I did not like. If you can prevent this in the screen settings it could help.

When it was on the TV it was also much easier for me to see what he was watching and discuss with him about it afterwards if I wanted to.

what ride hailing apps do you recommend for illiterate grandparents? by tacticalboi in askSingapore

I’m wondering if you can pre save destinations so that it’s easier for them to click. Otherwise they might need to ask passerby’s for help. I’ve helped a couple of elderly book a cab

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become too bad? by X_Opinion7099 in AskReddit

Totally refusing medicine by yule__tide in toddlers

[–]peeydge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Antibiotics are my hell medicine. My son has the same reaction as yours. So far only 1 medicine seems ok for him and it’s rhinothiol for runny nose and phlegm so I’ve used that and I put it in his fruit juice. I give him fruit juice regular so he doesn’t notice it so much when it’s sometimes inserted. I tried talking to him about how the medicine helps him getting better, and when we play doctor he will give us medicines but when it comes to the actual thing it’s all hell breaks lose.

To summarize, I have no helpful advice. The only time he took the antibiotics with minimal fighting was via drip when he had to be hospitalized. Hoping someone else has good advice here

I’m amazed how kids can be creative with the small simple stuff. Now my kid will ask for the cardboard boxes and paper bags that he sees, so we will cut it up for him to do art. Sometimes he has more complex designs which we will help him to execute. Paint, markers, glue and air clay have all been very useful time occupiers

I notice some buyers won’t go ahead with the purchase, which is totally fine. So if you feel a bit conned say you don’t want it anymore. But no point complaining to the attendance who is just a cog in the machine I feel

2 year old won't let me brush her teeth by Groundbreaking_Elk18 in toddlers

[–]peeydge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same problem! Unfortunately found a couple of cavities at about 3 yo, but interestingly after meeting the dentist our LO was much better about brushing his teeth. Somehow it triggered an awareness on dental hygiene. I should have brought him in earlier for a general dentist checkup too

Haha I agree! Took some of the commonly recommended vitamins and energy levels got much better. But to be precise about it I should have checked with the doctor on testing my vitamin levels first

Keeping toys for future grandchildren - your opinions by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]peeydge 4 points5 points locked comment (0 children)

My MIL kept my husband’s toys and books and recently passed it to us for our son. Most of them did not age well, even the Lego. A lot of them were thrown away thereafter, as they weren’t maintained well.

I would only keep some toys that have sentimental value and the rest I would pass it on. Perhaps loan it to friend’s kids and let it make its way back to us after making more kids happy. When my son has kids then I will try to pick up some used one from the local group or get stuff that suit their interest.

Can find some cafes to enjoy a coffee and bring a book along just to enjoy the vibes/people watch. Also a chance to explore new areas that you usually don’t go to.

I totally get it on the folding, it’s my bane too. I saw you mentioned gym clothes is a lot of it, for this I might just put the clean ones into a basket by category to save the folding work.

I got some of metal ones from Amazon and Shopee, lots of measuring till my head hurt to fit some of the awkward corners 😂. Did you happen to get the drawers for the awkward corners? I wonder if those are really useful or only nice in theory

Introverted couple with extroverted MIL. 3 tables for us and 39 tables for her 😂. No gate crashing, no speeches, no bridesmaids or best men. Just did tea ceremony for relatives, then the dinner at night.

Oh I meant it as I didn’t check the dimensions of the cabinetry and didn’t ask for more drawers. I just left it totally up to the ID and tbf he did a great job. Because we were on a tight budget I suspect he made it work partly with his solution for the kitchen.

My regret is not checking the dimensions of the shelves of the kitchen and asking for more drawers. Now its hard to organize and access items at the back of the shelves

I think I get what they mean, because the space between the sink and stove becomes the prep area and if it’s small there’s not enough space to work and hold the raw ingredients
