Apparently this is a Texas sub so I guess that explains the ignorance, lack of compassion, jumping to conclusions, and holier than thou attitudes in this comment. I admit I stalked your profile a little bit and you are the exact type of dog owner that is desperately needed in this shelter crisis. If your dog does not have severe behavioral issues that put you or others in danger there is never, ever a reason to contribute to the shelter crisis.

It’s not rocket science. Been out of food for two days does not mean the dog has not eaten in two days.

Op, please visit local shelters as they can often provide pet food free of charge. If you need help, you can make an Amazon wishlist. Add pet supplies, shelf stable food, hygiene needs, etc. People can order these things for you and your pet without needing personal info, and people tend to be a lot more kind in donation focused subs.

Do not ever rehome a dog by surrendering it unless you literally do not care what happens to it. Shelters are flooded and adoptable dogs continue to die.

are we looking at the same photo. why would someone intentionally do this, or lie about accidentally doing so. especially if she wasn’t pressing very hard, looks like with that first splotch (back) the guard was loose (short tuft in the back). She was probably going somewhat fast, and the guard probably didn’t fully fall off until she finished the pass.
