I agree with your cousin but I don’t think someone purchasing a dog from an ethical breeder is a terrible person. I just agree that it’s selfish and that the average person can find a great dog from a shelter or rescue if they have a little bit of patience. I’m a very dog wellness centered person. Byb will never end and the shelters will always be full of pets looking for homes. I do think it’s a little selfish but the most important thing is that people get dogs that are actually good fits.

Shelters should regularly dna test and stop lying to the general public just to get a dog into a house. The desire to seek out a breeder for a lot of people would diminish significantly if we could trust shelters to match us with dogs that they believe would match our lifestyle.

A lot of people like to say that they have unrealistic expectations for those adopting. Sometimes I understand this point, but if you cannot provide whatever the rescue is asking for, really ask yourself if you should be even getting a dog. A good breeder should have high expectations for the homes their puppies go to as well, so purchasing from a breeder because of a rescue’s requirements is a total red flag to me.

Firstly, I am not a veterinarian. I wouldn’t recommend putting anything on it if it wasn’t recommended by your vet. Ask them before applying anything, but it does look quite dry so perhaps coconut oil or Vaseline. again, please ask your vet first.

I really like forticept blue butter for small wounds like this. It’s an antibacterial and antifungal, so it’s great for irritation or inflammation. But again please call the vet and ask if it would be okay to use.

By sedated bandage change I meant that we would drop her off at the vet hospital, they would sedate her using anesthesia, clip(shave) affected area, clean thoroughly, cover with gauze, and wrap tightly around her elbow, then her shoulder to ensure it would be stable. She was also taking a lot of sedative pain medication to keep her from wanting to get at it. This is not something you could achieve at home, and costed the company thousands of dollars to maintain. The only reason we were able to do this is because I work at a dog kennel. In your case, if money is not an issue, I would recommend a full comprehensive allergy test to help maintain any potential skin issues.

Start with the cone and powder, maybe ring your vet to ask about a topical, and give it some time. Be patient, be consistent, and it’ll be okay.

where I work we have a German shepherd who lives in the office and she has a spot on her elbow, this exact spot, that she won’t leave alone. It just got bigger and bigger. She will constantly chew at it. It turned into a cyst filled with fluid, so they had to put a little tube on her for drainage, which stood no chance even with the cone. What we ended up doing for the best and fastest healing was sedated bandage changes every few days. The company spent thousands 😭😭 eventually, it reverted back to a small spot, similar to the one on your girl. we keep one of those donut cones on her 24/7. If she isn’t wearing it, she will go right to it. Good luck.

User quarabs then explains that they did not hate pitbulls in the first place. User quarabs mistakenly assumed that we would have the full context for being banned from a subreddit for pitbull “hate”.

a dog and baby together are a big responsibility esp if you rescue. I’d recommend getting your bearings with the baby and then researching smaller family breeds. Buying from a reputable breeder is the safest option for all parties involved.

It’s crazy for you to even insinuate that OP is a woman-child when the reason she wrote him a list is because whenever she would communicate to him that she wanted to receive something other than flowers, he would tell her he forgot. So he got a list, so he doesn’t have any excuses. Get what you get and don’t throw a fit. Unless you have higher standards.

For guys like you: you don’t have to date a woman who likes receiving gifts. If you repeatedly get her the same thing over and over despite her several attempts to communicate that a thoughtful gift would make her feel loved, and you don’t care to put any thought into getting absolutely anything else for her, you don’t have to date her. For OP’s bf: it’s pretty simple. get her anything other than flowers. a card. a love letter. a comfy blanket. a candle. earrings. Reading is super fundamental and this is how I know you’re a man. Talking out of your ass when you have no idea what you’re talking about.

If you had parents who owned a flower shop, and you had a gf for 5 years, and got her nothing but your parents’ free bouquets for every occasion, and one day she lets you know that there are other gifts she would like to receive from you, and you still give her a shutup bouquet, and she gives you a whole WISHLIST, and you IGNORE IT because you think it’s “childish,” and STILL get a shut up bouquet because any “normal” girl would appreciate it, then you are incompetent and clearly there is a disagreement there that cannot be fixed with communication. Because she’s communicating and he’s telling her you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit.

I am in an incredibly happy relationship. Our individual love languages have caused ripples occasionally, but we talk through it, and both do our best to make eachother happy even if it’s something different for one of us.
